Unemployed, What Now?

The company I worked for just eliminated our division.
I guess, I should have seen it coming, sometimes we turn a blind eye to what's happening and believe things are not that bad.
Well, can they be any worse? Time to send out the resumes.

Things can always be worse...

Most of us business owners are "unemployable", you still have a chance.

Send out those resumes, think outside your typical line of work. There are opportunities out there, you just need to be able to see them, and react.

Best of luck...

Glasman things are indeed that bad out there. Of course those who listen to what the newsman says which is what the govt told them to tell the Sheep you may not think so.

As you said, many like to look at things with that glass half full theory and that don't make them bad. I am a realist. I tell it like it is and this economy is very bad and will continue to get worse. Those who tell you otherwise are usually employed and doing ok while being blind to what's going on around them.

Good luck to you in your search. Sending out resumes are not the ticket though. It will take knocking on doors and meeting people. I promise you that.

Re: Unemployed, What Now?

Well at least it sounds like you were an employee, so you can stretch unemployment for quite a while. Kick back and take some of that vacation time you were wishing you had before you go nuts looking for a new grindstone to put your nose to--just don't wait until you HAVE to find something.

Bad economy or not, there is always work available for those who really want it. Maybe not your first choice of occupation, maybe not at the pay you'd like. But it's there.
