Seriously, I don't judge much - but guys that show up without TP - they can have the best stocked toolbelt in town - but they're **** ing luzers to me.

You are one gracious man Mr. Moore.

Re: Totally Random Thoughts...

So you know you are going to have over 1500 closings in one project and by & large, each one is going to go like the one before it and the one after will be the same. So you'd better get "The System" down pat and damned fast because after they move in, they WILL talk to their neighbors and compare notes. And each one had better be cookie-cutter the same, or my sales gal would hear about it the next day.
(God bless Linda and Maria - they were both Saints).

So after the first two weeks, my briefcase for pre-closings packed this:

1 box of Kleenex - women sometimes cry and somebody ALWAYS has the sniffles.

1 shrink-wrapped TP - makes it look fresh - and almost EVERYBODY has to go pee during the pre-closing.

1 zippy bag of doggy treats - they always brought Fido, and I ALWAYS made friends with Fido.

1 bag of Star Mints. No gum, no twisty wraps (kids will choke on them).

1 min-box of Frosted Cheerios - not often, but sometimes BABY needed something.

1 hand towel. Sometimes Mom needed it for a kid, or Fido might have a little nervous pee episode.

1 bottle of hand sanitizer.

1 roll of blue painters tape.

A tape measure so they could be sure the Fridge would fit.

2 pens, a pre-closing form, a copy of the homeowner's manual, and a 8.5 x 11 white notepad - which is where I did my scribbling (when people make "observations" I write them down - to prove I actually give a fck).

That, or they were calling you a puss for needing paper.

Two of 'em. Otherwise, the yoke would twist.

Tried a single, but Babe just couldn't handle some of the logs by herself.

Two of them ya say?

I would be jealous, but then I think - I wouldn't want to have your vet bills. Just their shots would probably cost more than Maine's annual budget.

But on the other hand, I guess you'll never run short of corn cobs.

Yup. Things always balance themselves out, don't they!

Amazon. They are too big to know where their ass is. I built a htpc and everything arrived except memory, which was supposed to get here yesterday, instead they sent an email saying it isn't in stock and they'll let me know when it ships.

That's a bit vague and I've waited a week already, had to go through some hoops to talk to an actual person, probably in New Dehli but human none the less. She cancelled that one and I ordered something in stock supposedly. So this morning's email says both orders have shipped.

Ain't that the damndest stuff tho?

I bought Microsoft Office 2000 in the box off of eBay (yeah, nearly 20 yo software). The order confirmation (it was on a Friday) said not to expect it until, I dunno, 9 days later. OK, it's 20 years old, I can wait.

Next day, I get an email from seller, says it didn't get sent out - his bad, sorry for the added delay.

Next day, it shows up on my porch via Priority mail. In other words, a week earlier than what was projected in the original order.

Somehow the trade-off of being called a puss for needing paper is a small price to pay...

The funny thing is she doesn't use toilet paper to save money, but uses a paper towel as part of her process (which costs much more)...

Then you have the guys who use one sheet at a time...

Don't forget that little piece behind your ear...

It's amazing what you can find on YouTube...

No, both times I was charged. I'm supposed to be refunded when they get the original chips back BUT I also had a laptop battery charger on order, placed on a different day. The email this morning was pleased to inform me it was included in the packaging with the original memory chips. So I have to open the box, can't refused it. Very clever.

I think I'll keep them and avoid another hour of wear and tear on my feeble mind. I can stuff them into my desktop, so I'll have 16 gigs instead of 8. Should be able to surf the net just fine.

Laptop memory in a desktop board?

That would be unique.

It would be. No, I just built a screamin' htpc w/8 gigs of ram. I ordered it all at the same time but it arrived in four, soon to be 5 shipments. I didn't want to wait for the memory to get the htpc running so I pilfered my desktop, which sits dormant for now.

Monster photography multi use tripod - pattern making/proof of concept/working the bugs out. Put a camera, speed light, soft box up to 10'. Long exposure ND filter light trails, different view for the 8mm fisheye, are the inspiration.

Hell those are even random thoughts

Parks Canada just put out an advisory that moose are coming up to vehicles in traffic and licking the salt off.

What a Canadian problem to have.
