I thought somebody was stealing my neighbor's solar panels.

Turns out, they were just taking them down so he could get a new roof.

I should be eligible for parole in 3-5 years though.

That's the problem with America. No money for schools, teachers, and education. Plenty of money for some stupid "game" that nobody cares about.

Ok, I've never cared about it. I don't understand people that do. But obviously they are out there. With their priorities ackbasswards.

Small side effect of capitalism. Is no one was making a bunch of money on trout, he wouldn't get what he's getting

I just don't understand this fascination with sports involving balls. It makes zero sense to me.

Never played any sports?

To be honest I don't watch much Sports at all anymore. What TV I do watches Sports. A lot better then whatever else is on TV

Either way, has nothing to do with you or me and our desires. Has to do with what trout is worth to his employers. Just like any hand working for us. Just a different scale

Re: Totally Random Thoughts...

I have a lot of respect for anyone that can handle any kind of ball the way the professionals do.

I don't like the antics of football.

My favorite sport to watch is golf. I know it's like watching paint dry but I enjoy not just the game itself but also the "gentlemanly" aspect of it.

I read a few years ago that the hardest sports to master were basketball first and then golf. Don't know how true that is but I know golf is a tough game to get the hang of.

I really suck at golf and I try Damn hard. A man can go a lifetime and not master that sport.

Re: Totally Random Thoughts...

Which begs the question of why it's so fascinating to try mastering hitting a ball into a hole with a stick. While I respect those who excel at that, I'm much more comfortable with the idea of producing something practically useful. Makes me feel like I'm contributing rather than just offering vicarious enjoyment to folks with too much spare time.

Awkwardly said, but I know some of you will get it.

Not everyone can do it... and like you said, they respect it and there's enough of them for them to cash in... the cream rises to the crop and what's usually forgotten is all the work and commitment that went into it years BEFORE they saw it though and made it to the top (1000 shots a day, failures, injuries, etc.)... what's also forgotten is all the people who benefit from it along the way (including the taxman)...

Still, kind of hard to mentally justify the importance of one profession over another (especially when you see $400+ Million)... does a teacher who phones it in REALLY benefit the kids? I'd probably be more upset that a teacher like that was making six-figures than a guy/gal who made a HUGE commitment to rise in their field and got paid on the back end... then there's the superstar teachers who do it because they love it, make a HUGE impact on kids, and six-figures should be a base not an end result IMO...

The 80/20 rule is one of those realities of life... and there will always be someone who makes more because of it... There will always be more people in the middle who do just enough (or not make the changes) to live in the middle... and there's nothing wrong with that...

Could never imagine myself living in a 15,000sf, because I wouldn't consider that a home, and in my mind that money could go to so many other uses, but that doesn't mean someone else can't...

The best thing about golfing? The camaraderie, the jokes, the badgering of each other. Oh and don't forget good cigars while you're at it. Great times on the golf course.

I tend to think like that.

But you know what? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

I find it peaceful. Most golf courses are visually appealing and well groomed. For several hours I just cut off my thoughts like relaxing by the beach.
