Re: Things You Love & Hate

Hate when the customer is over 40 minutes late arriving on site.

Love that they are paying $120 an hour and my clock started when I arrived at the agreed upon time.

Love that I call them up and they are like just wait we will get someone there soon.

Hate that I know when they get the invoice they are going to be mad that the majority of it was paying me to wait

Guess money is no object to some people

57 degrees, sunny with a few clouds, slight breeze, generally pleasant day.

We're under a blizzard warning

I've lived in Texas and Florida. The weather sucks there in the summer. The humidity is horrendous.

How was the blizzard up your way?

North side of The Springs had about a foot of snow, strong wind and poor visibility, south side, where the shop is, about 3" of snow, strong wind, so so visibility, another mile south, nothing just another day.

I've been to Florida during the summer, never been to Texas, I think Chicago's summer humidity is far more stiffening than Floridas humidity.

I'll stay where there's no humidity to be felt. Thank you.

Re: Things You Love & Hate

That's interesting.

For us, every highway was closed. Only abou 2 inches of snow, but wind created drifts that were impassable for most vehicles. I25 into fort Collins was opened up pretty early, but for us, the roads to get there were blocked by drifts.

Snowplow got stuck trying open up the roads Thursday morning. One school district was open, and they had busses sliding off the roads and angry parents due to kids waiting at bus stop in 40 mph winds.

By midafternoon Thursday, wind and sun had melted pretty much everything.

We didn't have to go anywhere so I stayed put. Used tractor to clear driveway blocked by drifts, kids had fun getting 4 wheeler stuck every 5 mins.

Now. Everybody back to work and school

I donít know Tom, the humidity here never really bothered me but I have traveled a lot to Central Florida and Texas when i was still at the airline and think that it is stifling there. Central Florida sucks but the closer to the coast isnít too bad when you get that ocean breeze

of course certain summers are worse than others up here in the Windy City like last year was pretty unbearable IMO

Re: Things You Love & Hate

I have a small T5 fluorescent lamp in my bathroom under the upper cabinet that lights up the mirror. It died abruptly and I picked up a new one through Amazon.

Come to find out I picked out the exact same one (by accident) so all I had to do was unplug it, remove one screw, slip the dead one off the bracket and then the new on on, and put the screw back in.

No light in the bathroom for 2 days. 2 minutes to replace it after it came in >>> Sweet.

Ya the old dodges are damn easy to steal. Don't feel like dealing with aftermarket alarms.
Also its starting to be a pig even after a tune up. Time for an upgrade.

Honestly I have no idea.
Why I'm considering leasing vs buying...
I can write-off 100% of a lease payment up to $800 a month, Able to dump it back on them at the end of the lease if its high maintenance or buy it out.
I would save thousands buying vs leasing, but I might save that in tax leasing. I have to compare the two options and ask the accountant what he thinks. Miles are not a concern since I'm moving to a small city.
