Re: Things I Love (2)

My little girls.

I posted a while back that my daughter gave up the TV in her room to a flood victim. They had no TV at all.

I realize that may not sound like much, lots of kids don't have TVs in their rooms. But my kids don't get to watch a lot of TV. They have never played a video game. The TV time they get they enjoy

After a few weeks I took the TV out of my study and hung it in her room.

Well I guess my oldest daughter heard me talking to one of the ladies who lost her house in the flood. I'm doing everything I can to help her. I've given her some money and as much labor as possible

She came to me this evening and said she would give all of her toys to anybody who needed them. As well as her money. She handed it to me

I don't give my kids allowance. That's BS. I do pay her for things she does that are outside of normal chores. Teaching her the value of a dollar. She's nine, she has been doing that since she was four.

What struck unashamed tears for me when I went outside to see evening to smoke a cigar after I put them to bed is that my three-year-old, really won't be three until Sunday, brought me toys as well.

I have no idea how human beings that gracious and that precious came from me.

My nephew, my brother and business partner son has given up as well.

Proud man tonight.

Yeah, we just work our way up the lakeshore (Lake MI) heading north as the water changes temps. They were hot today as we didn't get in the water until around 10:30, first fish by 11. We didn't make it much into the evening bite before we limited out.

I always planned to look that first boy right in the eye, with a face serious as poker, and tell him, "Evenin' son! My name is Brian. I am her father. Anything you do to my daughter tonight, I'm gonna do to you when you drop her back off."

Then, without another word, turn slowly around and walk away while the boy processes the concept.

As much as we joke about it, did anyone have a similar incident?

I always got along famously with my girlfriends' fathers.

Re: Things I Love (2)

I knew a guy that showed for his first date with the police chief's daughter, and the chief was shooting clothespins off a line. Buddy asked him if he could try it, then shot some clothespins off. Told the chief it was fun and gave him the pistol back.

My father in law moved an entire engine block with a jerk... day I met him.

I don't think it was an accident...

I hadn't never used ppe with guns other than ear muffs if I'm shooting a lot. Rarely though

Sending your pics to my little bro. He's a walleye nut for Lake Huron and needs the incentive.
