Re: Things I Love

We play it for fun at recess and lunch at school from age 5 that or a game called "scrag" which is just chase down and tackle whomever has the ball and rip it off them and then everyone tries to tackle you. Its truely ingrained into us from a young age and if you match that with athletic talent you get some amazing players.

We used to call that Smear the Queer.

Then the liberals showed up.

Now, I think most schools don't have recess. And they wonder why the kids are fat.

This post answers so many reasons why I don't recognize my country any more. If me as a kid came back today, he would probably cry.

It's sad really ! A kid can't even grab his fishing pole and ride his bike to his favorite fishing hole !

I remember that.

All you needed was a football and a bunch of guys.

Picking teams chewed into valuable recess time hence; we skipped it. You could get to it right away by tossing the ball up and tackling who ever caught it.

Stoved fingers, dislocations and sprains all part of the game.

Those were the days.

Now, there's probably a ban on that type of activity, not to mention the political incorrectness in the name itself.

Did you guys ever play bullrush? That got banned from schools here so we used to go out of school grounds to play.

Describe that. We probably had something similar until the Sissification of America.

?

Not sure.

We played suicide:

Had to do with a tennis ball and a large tall wall of the outside of the school.

I can't recall all the rules but if you didn't catch the ball or fumbled it, you had to run to the wall and tag up before some one else grabbed the ball and whipped it at you as you were running.

That was fun!

Apparently USA has only been together 5 days before this game so understandable to see a lack of cohesion.

1 tackler, anyone he tackles during the rush becomes a tackler and so on and so on until nobody is left. You just run from one side of the playground to the other.

Prisoners play "crash" (rugby league on concrete) that is hardcore.

All our real athletes play proper sports. If they played rugby they'd kick butt.

We played dodgeball, all over the gymnasium complex not just the court, we played it by kicking basketballs at each other. That was brutal, I remember one kid being hit by me in the head and another kid in the knee, knocked him horizontal in mid air, hahaha.

I have impulse control issues, especially at that time in my life. Couldn't control the impulse/alcoholism, so cut it out completely. I feel much better in my life now, so I had that beer. I don't want to go back there again, so it'll only be one but I do want to be able to have a casual beer with the girl out on the town, or at a bbq, or watching the game with the guys.
