I've had that happen before. It's a cringe worthy sound.

Can't sprinkle some ice melt on there to help? I (thankfully) haven't had to deal with that myself

We considered it, but needed it cleaned to finish layout and set some girders today.

If itís not too hard the flange of a speed square works pretty well.

Not-as-designed uses for a speed square.

1. Scraping ice (or whatever).
2. Light-duty prybar.
3. Temporary shim.
4. Scratching where you can't reach between the shoulderblades.
5. ...

Speed square is my favorite ice scraper by far for dimensional lumber

Re: Things I Hate (3)

The problem with a speed square is that the edge wears down after using it as such and becomes nice and rounded over.... But yes, I've done the speed square as well.

The paint scraper took that frozen stiff ice off nice and clean.

Iíve always been a fan of using a 8x12 square to scrape plates.

Re: Things I Hate (3)

Every time I don't take my trailer with to a job it bits me. Over the weekend went out of town to do some the soffit and fascia and other work on my nephew's place that is getting ready to sell. My little compressor quits working so had to run to HD and buy a new one , then my 1/4 crown stapler stops working right, extra one is in trailer. so finished up using screws, never fails. But would of had hardly any room to park the trailer though.

Of course he does. It comes in cubes so they fit in the glass with the Mojito.

Better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
