Trick question. The answer is C. You had to account for the return trips.

Re: Things I Hate (3)

Anyone sub out something this small and not waste 2 weeks trying to get in on someone's schedule? Sure I have subs, but the work I have for them is do small and do infrequent, they don't exactly jump to do the work.

I won't even call my regular plumber, one fixture reinstall will be faster with a plumbing service guy I use for stuff like this.

Contractor A.. You said drive 40 minutes, assumed to be both ways. then 2 coats takes 10 minutes. (50 minutes)

Contractor B drives 20 minutes and 2 coats takes 40 minutes (60 minutes)

Contractor C drives 5 minutes and 2 coats takes 90 minutes. (95 minutes)

Of course this doesn't include cleaning the tools, mixing the mud etc. But that should be the same for all and doesn't need to be included.

Iíd go with contractor C because I think the easy sand is crummy. I put it on heavy and then bust out a sander and vac and take it down to where I need it to be. Otherwise itís 2-3 excruciating coats.

When somebody says they had to drive "x" to get something, they always mean one-way. That's how we complain. You lose.

To be clear, there are always lap marks, and these get shaved if they're significant. Then the whole thing gets a light sanding.

I hear you. Our lead painter is invaluable because he is an awesome patch man and painter. My drywall guy would have to charge our the ass for small stuff and would screw the schedule

Re: Things I Hate (3)

We've had quite a few of mechanical issues this week. Its only Friday morning, hopefully nothing else pops up.

Truck #37 went in limp mode. Had to bring the crew in from Canton and have them switch out to truck #42. Took it to the dealer. Needs DEF injector and some kind of sensor.

Truck #44 had to stay at the shop. The bed manufacturer (Reading) sent a recall and was planning to come out to address it. They came out to look. They said the VIN# is good but bed serial # doesn't match up to what they have in their system. They can't do anything because of that. They checked out truck #47 for recall work while they were here. The service body has cracks. This bed has an aluminum bumper. They haven't come up with a "fix" for trucks w/ alu bumpers, only for steel bumper bodies. Trk 47 is on limited (no towing) duty till they figure it out.

Trk #33 just had a new turbo actuator installed (dodge 6.7L diesel 5500) at the dealer. They must have done a chit job re-installing the wheel well. If fell down and cracked a steel brake line. Had to send my in house mechanic to the job site to fix it.

Trk #16 blew a brake line in the parking lot. It was rusted out. Crew dropped their trailer and put it behind Trk #27. Trk #27 is getting stuck in limp mode sporadically. Crew was told to deal with it.

Bobcat track loader T190 blew out the bearing on the main roller on the undercarriage.

Bobcat excavator 331 (#2) Blew a hose while running the hammer on some major rock

Trailer N needed a tire replaced

Trk #49 was having issues with the trailer wiring. Just needed to bend the tabs of the socket out a bit and all was good.

Re: Things I Hate (3)

My girlfriend loves to cook. Between that and going out to dinner, in addition to all the desserts due to her having kids, my healthier eating lifestyle is being disrupted.

Havenít put on any weight yet and still hitting the gym, but getting harder and harder to maintain. I refuse to buy new clothes again
Lol.
