Re: Things I Hate (3)

That Ford introduced a electric SUV and called it a Mustang Mach E, what a rip off Mustang SUV never, just a complete misuse of a name.

Re: Things I Hate (3)

Morons.

Was installing a large(108" x 14" x 4") floating shelf today in a room full of people doing other work in various parts of the rooming.
I've got my work piece up on a set of horses, which makes it irresistible to lazy people who can't be bothered to make their own flat surface to put stuff down on to just bend over and put it on the floor. Nope, gotta put it on the shelf that I'm actively installing.
We shoo a couple people off, but right at the end of the day, while I'm installing the brackets, this dude is shuffling papers and making notes on them with a giant red permanent marker!
I didn't even bother saying anything to him. What am I going to do, time travel back to his youth and raise him better?
Dropped dime to the project manager and bounced.

Of course they want to know if I can fix it. **** if I know, I've never been dumb enough to draw on a piece of wood with a red permanent marker.

Yep. Sanding with work and a lot of it. Chemicals will dull it but it wont completely come out if it's a lighter colored wood.

I'm so guilty of that one, when it's my own saw. Right side of the fence routinely holds my coffee cup for the entire day.
I've even learned that a pencil will fit perfectly in the jig guides while still allowing material to pass over it. Brilliant.

What finish did you put on it?

Minwax Dark Walnut with a satin poly over top. Thought that would put up a little better of a fight, actually. Nope. On there and good. I'll deal with it tomorrow. It was 3pm, so I didn't feel like fighting with it.

Horizontal surface disease. It has afflicted almost all horizontal surfaces in my shop.

I hate when you leave a neat pile of paint tools, tarps and material in the corner of a room, and the client's cat uses it to crap or pee.

Things I hate....

When you like a certain brand of something, you have conveyed that fact for years...and somebody else (purposely?) replenishes the stock with another brand....again....to "try it".

Right now I'm looking a jar of peanut butter and mumbling to myself.

The Aldi curse.

It turns out styrene tubs with a scratch will develop a crack at that location.

I'll yank it and put a new one in, in the mean time it has an ugly patch. Hall of shame worthy.

My install a bunch of years ago, I've done a lot of work there.

Been buying their natural stuff for years. All the other stuff has Canada oil in it which gives me diarrhea every time.
