Where do you get ONE way? It's 3 hrs total. That's including driving from town to Hsb. **** he could drive to Dallas in 3 hrs lol

You have your ways I have mine. I know what works for me, taking 5 deliveries the day I started job is not conducive for us.

I'll just keep meddling along....

OK... go with 3 hours total ride time, although that's not how it read... without the numbers, ain't buying it... and I doubt we'll see them otherwise you would have posted them by now...

You're the one who is saying you can make money off it, and supposedly did the calculations but have yet to provide the numbers when asked...

First it was your super that did the work, then the laborer(s) were involved... that's confusing activity with accomplishment IMHO...

OK... as you said, you have your ways and we have ours, and the site is there to share insights and perspectives... what I said is it would be interesting to see the numbers that you tracked and proven that you asserted...

Provide them or don't... SHOW others how you benefit from it, if it's your intention to be an asset to a knowledge base...

But when you do this stuff, and go off on tangents, I could give a rats a** what you think on the subject... only what you can prove...

Since you just called me a liar, which is absolutely ridiculous, you can go f*** yourself and I am through conversing with you on this matter.

I didn't call you a liar... that's total BS... I said to you without numbers, I ain't buying your perspective you interjected because I've been through that exercise MANY times and my experience tells me different which is why I said it would be interesting if you provided the numbers... HUGE difference... if you can't tell the difference, can't help you... but I guess my gut was right that I didn't think the numbers would be forthcoming... so yeah, we then agree... no reason for you to continue conversing on the matter then...

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I am going to expound on this further, you need to learn how to read critically, k a p. Where the f*** did I ever say that my superintendent unloaded the trailer? I said he picked it up and delivered it, no where did it say that it was 3 hours one way. You assume that because You like to read between the lines when s*** isn't there I guess. Whatever

Why in God's name do you think I would give you what I pay my guys and what the burden is on top of that because of a simple thread? . I have nothing to gain here, by showing you any of those numbers. That is private information for my employees

Any discussion about the tracking would be moot without the pay scale. Because I can't tell you what my guys on the job would save by not being there an extra half a day because of deliveries versus a half of day of my superintendent's time

Nor did I ever say that I made some kind of special f****** spreadsheet that you seem to think it exists, I said I tracked it.

Another thing you want to keep in mind, is there is a reason that I keep pretty much everything in house. Design, interior decorator, selections, Cabinet Shop, carpentry and painting, and general contracting. Because most people I meet are not remotely as good at their job as I am at mine, why would I trust their company to fulfill my obligations to my company leave me exposed for customer service to my clients?

You're paying the super, who's making good money, to drive, shop, hand pick material, checkout, load the trailer, and drive back from multiple suppliers, why would you not pay him to see it through and help the laborers unload it?

Can only go by what you post...

Once again, I didn't call you a liar and that's BS... repeating it doesn't make it true...

It isn't about showing ME your numbers... it's a knowledge base... you interjected and asserted that you've tracked and proven it... no insight into your formula, that others can use? So without expounding on its merits, what's your point in continuing? To stir crap up?

In our case, as I said, our suppliers already know what we'll accept... a phone call versus sending a higher-paid employee on a 3-hour tour (a little Gilligan's Island humor) is a no-brainer and the cost savings evident... but like I said, if it works for you and makes money, all that matters... you just having provided anything to give it any merit and a bunch of things to question it's validity...

Neither did I and just you not reading between the lines but making unfounded assertions... you're the only one who mentioned a spreadsheet... Tracked and proven it is what YOU said... because I know what's involved in the exercise, how our suppliers work with us, etc. it's much more involved than your cursory explanation earlier...

So I thought it would be interesting to see how you actually got to tracked and proven as an exercise...

You don't think so... so no reason to continue... right?

You're entitled to your opinion... I never start any fight (not my intention of posting here) but post to give my perspective and/or defend it, but I can't control how you or anyone else perceive things where even if my shoe scraped the floor some would automatically perceive it as I let one rip... the posts tell the story not your opinion of one poster or another whom you may favor or dislike... most are adults and people will read it for what it is...

After almost 8 years and over 10K posts, I am who I am... those who like what I post, and some who don't... but no one forces you to read or post...

Got to stay aware at all times when you're up in the air, too easy to pull a Humpty Dumpty, glad that didn't happen.

How did you land if I may ask and were you on concrete?
