Australia's desert goes from blazing hot during the day to frigid at night. Aborigines figured out how to live there.

I guess we aren't so smart after all.....

I'm betting the technology makes things worse. Where they can communicate to each other and reinforce their feelings about it. It becomes a positive feedback loop which only gets worse and worse.

Without the technology and the feedback the system maintains equilibrium. With the technology the system overloads and any bad information gets recycled over and over again until the truth is a distant paste.

If the earth teeters a hair off its axis I would think our climate changes. I don't think you can study or monitor that

They already study and monitor it. How do you think they even know about such things?

Re: Things I Hate (2)

And the people giving up life because of climate despair is probably a good thing. If they can't handle something like that, they won't be of much use in normal life. Really good they don't plan on breeding. They would teach their children this same behavior and it would just continue to cycle down.

By technology I meant the ability to adjust to any change in climate from a physical/logistical perspective (i.e. - being able to create terrain quickly, move materials, fans, heaters, A/C, etc.)... not the complaining tech...

Well, the world has a history of people in despair who still went on to contribute despite it... I'm more referring to the manipulation and unnecessary angst created nowadays that leads to the loop you're referring to and the articles like above... gets them all worked up sometimes leading to crazy things...

Anytime it's hot out nowadays, people jump into a mode... Am I the only one who remembers "Hot Town, Summer in the City" by the Lovin' Spoonful (done in the 60's) commercial in the 70's with the fire hydrants blasting to keep the kids cool advocating for summer camp?... and that was when we were in the supposed coming Ice Age scare before it switched to the global warming scare...

Interesting you can't find that commercial anywhere anymore... AI searching forums of all kinds using algorithms to re-write and remove things...

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Didn't the axis move a bit when China flooded the Ten Rivers Gorge.

Heck, I'm getting ready to farm at our place next year. If I get a few weeks longer for the growing season, it's not a bad thing.

Same with the Northern Hemisphere. Warmer means more food production.

Of course, it isn't that drastic and if it wasn't for the Climate nazi's constantly bombarding the simpletons, we wouldn't even notice.

Hotter, climate change, colder, climate change, drier, climate change, wetter climate change, smoggier, climate change, clearer, climate change.

Maybe if they could tell us what it is supposed to be, we would have a baseline to go from. However, since there has never been a here and now before, it just is what it is.

Deal with it and adapt. Seems like that is how we have survived.

Of course, we probably ate less soy and didn't have as many basements to live in.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

The only thing that I've noticed with the climate is the temps have shifted. The winter goes later in the year and the summer does too.

Use to be by May it was warm with almost no chance for a cold spell, now it's June. And it use to be by the time mid Nov got here it was winter, real winter where you needed to be dressed for it. Now the middle of Dec is when that happens. But the length of the seasons is still about the same, just shifted.

When I was a kid in the winter we use to get great snowstorms. And then the snowfall slowed down enough where it was noticeable. And in the past 4-5 years the snows are coming back. Don't know what it means, but this is my recollection.

I walked 1 mile to school, uphill both ways with no shoes or mittens.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I did walk 2 miles to school, uphill both ways. Our house was on a huge hill and the school was on another smaller hill.

And it snowed once.

So these little scumbags running around licking ice cream and spitting in drinks need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 20 years in prison, federal law.

I would like to know what they're doing about the little bitches they have caught on video doing it? They better be prosecuting without prejudice.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Great weather for lawn work. Tried the small lawn tractor. Worked until a spring broke on the mower deck.

Tried the bigger lawn tractor. Worked until the drive belt jumped and wedged between the pulley and the fan.

Scratch that, maybe some string trimming. That worked until a vibe wrapped around and there was a pop. Head turns freely now.

Maybe some brush cutting. Won't pull through. Probably one of the maple seeds got into it, and jammed it.

There is more...
