I've turned it on from sleep and it's dim. I hate that. I bought it because the screen was bright and the battery could handle it. I don't need or want it dim...ever.

Yep. The worst is when you are getting a call and can't see who it is for the first 10 seconds or so.

Do they even text these "updates"? Ots like the ones who code it use flip phones or something. 20 minutes with the update and you would see the issues.

When you type a 5 paragraph post to update one of your threads and the app craps out and you lose it all before you’re able to send.

Fire departments. The whole system is a giant scam on every community across America.

Man, you really need to provide some context for that one. Many folks, particularly those served by volunteer FD's, would vociferously disagree.

We need more firefighters up here, especially in the VFDs.

Did not mean to thank your post, was trying to quote it.

You really seem to have a problem with law enforcement and FD's. Maybe you're the problem?

I can't speak for Michigan, never have been there so wouldn't be so bold as to say "every community across America", but in my part of the world the paid and VFDs do a great job. Our LEO's do as well.

They never save the house. Why spend hundreds of billions a year on a bunch of douche bags to watch shlt burn. You need to turn off Sean Hannity every once in a while.

Uhm... to stop the rest of the surrounding houses/businesses from burning, save lives, and reduce the damage from the original fire, including forest and historical sites?...

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I renovated a house that then burned. It was saved. It was a volunteer fire Department.

They used firefoam the Navy gave them, so there wasn't as much water damage as just using water. Key to saving structures us cutting the vents in the right location. That takes someone skilled in reading fires and venting to know where to do it.

Without firefighters, large parts of Lisbon would have lit during the Worumbo Mill fire. It burned, but the rest of the town didn't. Saving neighboring structures has value, even if the structure is a loss.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Bunch of stills, but here is the Worumbo going up. 23 fire departments to save the town.

Don't let the pics fool you, plastic was melting on trucks. One fire Department got scared, chopped their hoses off the truck and left.

Here they’re now denying building permits if the driveway might be 1’ change in elevation over 10’. Land is very scarce and now some douchebag with way too much time on his hands is locking more land out of buildable, and even if the land is buildable there a more hoops to jump through to get there. You now have to have a driveway certified by a surveyor before occupancy is issued.

You mean an 11' long driveway has to get a variance??

Not worth it, you have to look at it from a risk/reward perspective. I know Sean Hannity would say quadruple all spending on fire departments and his sheeple fall in line with that thinking. Expecting people to pay so much in taxes to cover every bodies pet cause is bankrupting families and the country.

1’ elevation change over 10’. You know exactly what I was referring too.
