The garden here is on well draining soil so it will dry fast, but some of the woods roads and back pasture don't drain at all in areas. Those are going to be off limits for quite a while.

FWIW, we had Brown tail moths move in last year, and I was behind the curve on dealing with them. They love apple trees, they'll strip them bare and kill them.

I'll be able to save the Apple trees, but a couple oaks and a mature wild cherry tree are toast so far.

It is the oaks and cottonwoods that are overwhelming my allergies.

Will be moving towards pine country and an open river system.

I never used to get allergies. Now they act up like crazy in spring.

Wonder why.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

My definitely unofficial poll says adult onset allergies hit between ages 40-45.

Almost everybody I know from my age group has allergies, and to the same things.

Danged if I know...

Re: Things I Hate (2)

When I was younger (teens) I had pretty bad allergies. Mostly to grass pollen. My Dad would get a kick out of how bad it got after I mowed the grass.

They would last about two months and it was bad. Itchy throat, watery itchy eyes, lots of sneezing. Found a product that would work pretty good until they discontinued it. Then I suffered because nothing else really worked.

As time went on my allergies got better. Now I suffer some days for about a month instead of every single day. Allegra seems to work well for me too. I can take it after I feel it coming on whereas the other stuff needed to be taken right as I got out of bed or I'd be drowsy all day.

Mine are a little bit more severe than that.

Claritin D works, other stuff not so much. Even the generic stuff doesn't work so well. Sucks though cause if I dont take it before lunch I cant fall asleep.

Kentucky blue grass pollen is the worst, so I’m told. I don’t have any allergies.... yet.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Today the power company was replacing a pole that goes to my meter pole, found out mine is about rotted off and needs to be replaced. Doing a buy and set on the pole from power company. Then I have to move everything over, Requires a permit. So I will really be busy on that day changing it over, disconnect, inspect and reconnect. Not what I needed right now.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Just like that plumbing is unregulated in Texas.

Been up TABS ass for two days and talking lobbyists - no way it gets reversed

Bad hand off between The Sunset commission with sunsetted the plumbers board and the Texas Department of licensing and regulation. Legislation passed it because tdlr was supposed to take it over.

They declined. HB 1550 and SB 625 presented by Sifronia Thompson D- Houston and Chris Paddie R- Marshall were unsupported.

Governor will not call a special session so unless he forces TDLR to take it over plumbing will be the wild wild west as of Sept 1 in Texas

Hate that one vendor keeps asking me to go to Windsor for $75.

I've told them several times I'm not going 8 hours round trip plus time on site for $75.

They keep asking me if I will reconsider.
