Re: Things I Hate (2)

Brother in law on the side of the highway after a good day of fishing with his kids.

The boat trailer wheel completely sheared off while he was going 75mph. Somehow that wheel didn't detatch and send his trailer with boat flipping, and/or truck.

It must have been damaged awhile because that stretch of road is flat and clean....

Large bed truck on it's way.

Man, that certainly could have ended differently. Count his blessings.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Decided to hit a shore point on Sunday. Light traffic on parkway. When we got local things came to a halt. Maybe 4 hrs in the car single lane road can't turn around.

I think the draw bridge we crossed was a big factor. And of course the excessive amount of volume.

220 miles up to Canastota NY on the Mass Pike and NY Thruway. On the way up had 20 minutes of construction delay at one area. On the way back we lost about 4 minutes because 2 cars were on the side of the road, couldn't tell you why. On the way back it was Memorial Day.

So all in all it was a good travel experience. But it was also the first time I had delays on the way up.

I passed a guy on 95 on Saturday in a similar situation, looked like he was walking the shoulder looking for his trailer tire

Another phucking day of rain. My anxiety is at level 10.

Need to edit. Day wasnít a total loss. The guys squeezed in a small job and another full house before the heavy stuff. So they worked till 11 and two of the three will get paid for full days.

Small farmers and nurseries in some areas have a total loss for the year, everything is wiped out and not covered by insurance.

Not that it helps you any ...

Some people thrive on challenges and a huge work load without getting flustered or missing a step. The wrong thing sets me off and I donít even want to be around me lol. Amazing Iíve lasted this long in business.

Try and minimize it and make it relative - your bills are going to get paid and you will have food on the table and so will your men.

That was a level 10 anxiety. Anything else is less. I know you're Builders are probably bitching but they know it's raining too.

That's why I planted my garden so late. It turns into a pool with this kind of rain.

Not that I make a living off my pittance of a 9x16 garden.

Yep. That is a legitimate problem, losing a whole Year's worth of income and possibly a second-year if the ground is too jacked up to work when it's time to plant

Guess should clarify This didnít cause the 10 it just was an additional thing on my plate adding to what I was dealing with before, not really business related. The builders I work for are all pretty good dudes so donít really bust my balls at all ever. Actually, not many homeowners give me trouble either.

Guess itís the feast or famine deal that causes most of the aggravation. Last week barely had enough work to fill the schedule. Next two weeks Iíll be hopefully breaking into two crews here and there to keep up with the huge workload.

The guys are always taken care of. No stress in that department thankfully. Most little one crew businesss donít sit around with 35k at all times in business checking account.

Iíve operated this way forever. Reduces stress on the one area that causes it for many, Money. I really donít need much to live on and have a very nice nest egg in case chit really got bad.

Not everyone is cut out to run the show-but somehow Iíve been defying the odds for a few years now lol Therapy session over lol.

yup, that's me. The more chaotic it is related to the business, the calmer I get.

But that is only at work. And it doesn't matter how good or bad it is elsewhere in the world.

I find myself the most calm and relaxed when climbing ladders or sitting at the edge of the roof. Love the physical part of the job.
