Seriously! Snap 2 lines 6-8" apart and cut, would've been done with that before he got to hole 10

Vinyl cove base. Seemingly so simple, but those damn outside corners. I had 5 pieces to install with 7 outside and 2 inside corners.

I should've just gone with wood. Wood and I have an understanding, vinyl cove I just have disdain

Never seen one mitered. They just bend them around the corner.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I did bend them around, but realized after a while I needed to lower my standards on it and accept the fact that there is no way to get the lip to bend properly and keep its shape.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

There's a corner cutter that 45s the bend. It gouges out the vinyl so it goes around the corner.

Why anyone uses that stuff for anything is beyond me.

You can use the corner cutter above or alternately, Heat gun, dry fit to mold, then glue...

That's the fast way. You can do it by hand with a utility knife, but it's a pain.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

That last store front I did for our retail experiment, jeez, had I don't know how many running feet of vinyl cove.

Outside corners, scored the inside with utility, then heat-gunned them to conform. Turned out OK.

Almost bought the skivving tool, but the skinflint in me prevailed.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I had VCT done and vinyl cove this week I'm on municipal job finally. sure enough they opened the door and never did the pieces behind the doors he had to go back.
To contour they carved out the back a little bit and use the heat on it doesn't really look that great.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

I hate ripping out a nasty eave to access framing and getting peppered with paint chips, dirt, blown in insulation and birds nests.
Fortunately it's warm out today so it's stuck behind my neck and back before down my pants.

Re: Things I Hate (2)

Fricken mice. I'm still continuing the battle. Spent a day a couple weeks ago completely sanitizing and carpet extracting.

Three days ago, more mice. Set 4 traps, got 2. Got none last night. Spent this morning resanitizing.

Hopefully I got them.

Suburban, same thing. 6 traps last night, got one. Got one night before last.

Trying some Tomcat mouse spray. Hopefully it helps. Reviews are a mixed bag.

On the positive, the truck smells like cinnamon, jasmine, eucalyptus and peppermint instead of the normal sweaty shirt smell.

Do you use bait stations to poison them?

I had a huge mouse problem as well and those worked great. I still have a couple in my garage that I keep an ion it to see if there’s any activity but it pretty much solved my mouse problem

Re: Things I Hate (2)

When the new neighbor comes over with his kids to ask if they can use my concrete driveways to skateboard on.

Nope, sorry...not trying to be a jerk but pretty soon it escalates.

No matter the reason...you still come across as a jerk.

Get off my lawn.
