It was supposed to be sunny all day. So I start shingling my shed and back part of house and tada! Showers all afternoon!

Re: Things I Hate

Ordering a 300 dollar part for my truck. Pay 49 extra dollars and it still takes 4 days.

Get part. Go to pull starter to get to the dipstick flange to replace said 300 dollar part.

Go to loosen main battery cable on starter. Bolt lug snaps off. 200 more dollars and I have a new starter as well. Now this stupid oil leak has cost over 500 bucks to fix. Plus the 3 quarts of oil a day it's been leaking. Plus another missed day of work.

It may be time for a new truck. I wish it was only nickle and diming me at this point. It's more like ripping 4 and 5 hundred bucks out of my pocket every few weeks now.

Didn't take me long to realize my time was better spent making money than trying to fix a truck.

Re: Things I Hate

Problem with that is you're without your vehicle for a few days sometimes. Especially if they are working on it and find a part that needs to be ordered that's hard to find. My neighbor at the shop is one and he has a car in there that's just getting a muffler system replaced. Took three days to get one of the oddball parts.

Re: Things I Hate

True. I guess it's been a while since I've only had 1 vehicle. With a truck and a van I can just switch between the two as I need to. Also being late modes I don't really need to do much work to them.

In the past I've had to rent a truck for a day or two while mine was in the shop. Still beats breaking bolts with rust chunks falling in your face.

Re: Things I Hate

Can't afford that. All the stuff is easy fixes, just a lot in a row. The factory oil leak fix is a crapshoot. The part I got is a sure fix. Never had a starter lug snap off before.

If that's doable JB Weld 5 minute stuff works wonders. The auto shop next to my shop used it quite a bit.
