The thing I hate even more is when they expect you to fix something that's so worn out, it isn't fixable. They ask, "Well.. can you at least TRY to fix it?" and after you spend 4 hours trying, they don't want to pay for something that hasn't been repaired.

Then what I hate even more than that is when you try to fix something but your attempts make the situation worse. Then that leaves you on the hook to replace the entire thing at your expense because it sort-of worked before you touched it and now that it's less functional than what it once was, that somehow makes you responsible for the "damage".

Re: Things I Hate

Getting a call 7 yrs after installing Hardie siding. The cal went like this, "you installed my siding and it is still great, BUT, there are little white pieces coming out and down through the siding".

Me: what the samuel heii are you talking about.

There are these little one inch pieces of stuff coming down between the siding.

Me: what is your address? I have to see this. (hmmmm did I leave some extra joint aluminum, did I leave some tape, or maybe even some house wrap?

NO!!!!

I get to the house and all of the F'n James Hardie bar code stickers that were on the back of each piece is wiggling out between each coarse.

What the FUNK?

I'm so tired of this, I could SCREAM!!!

Breaking the rental tractor before I even put it to real work. Thus loosing out on a thousand dollar day. Any other day I would just take it and have it welded. Why does this crap always happen before a Sunday. Uhg. Now I get to paint tomorrow.

I've rescued gobs of electrical/electronic devices from water "damage" simply by ensuring they were bone-dry before applying power. Though that battery pack seems okay, I'd follow the same rule and give it a vacation until it's had a chance to dry thoroughly--maybe with some help from the sun for a few days.

Could be the driver would work once well dried, too. I wouldn't throw it out before giving that a chance.
True
I will douse wet electrical with rubbing alcohol to draw out the moisture. If it fits on your dash that is a good place to cook the moisture out.

Wow! Both the battery and the drill work like nothing ever happened this morning.
