Perhaps you should do a "This is how I build my nothing close to box cabinet cabinets" thread so everyone including myself can be enlightened.

I do understand the quality of cabinet that you build as I install high end custom cabinets every day in multi million dollar beach front homes. I assume your quality would be on par with what I work with. I was more curious about your processes in how you achieve your end result.

It looks like you've got a prefinished ply carcass with an unfinished face frame - which is why you'd have to mask off the prefinished parts to spray the FF. Is this the inside corner cab you were referring to in another thread that the rails join at the inside corner? Regardless, why don't you prefinish the FF also?

When building my own I used to prefinish all parts separately (including faceframes) and only have to mask off the dado on the FF and the tongue on the side panels where the joint was made to make sure it got good glue adhesion. I'd also domino in the cabinet bottom to the FF on base cabinets and domino the bottom and top on wall cabs to make sure they didn't go anywhere.

Re: Things I Hate

Just the way I do things. FFs are glued on solid. End cabinets have smooth sanded corners, no FF sticking out, no gaps. I use pocket screws on the top rail just because it's convenient and will never be seen after the countertops are on. There is still plenty of glue there.

It's not prefinished ply. It's raw that I finish after the cabinet is assembled. Dado construction.

The second and third ones are pretty good lookin' to me. The photography leaves something to be desired, but the chicks are fine.

Our POS microwave that insists on reminding you that your food is done by beeping every ten seconds. I know it is done, I want it to cool off some since same POS microwave only knows how to make things cold or very hot.

Then, at least 1 or 2 more times the rest of the day.

Starts to hurt less after that.

Re: Things I Hate

Masking cabinets on a Sunday. Only 4 more to go. To bad that's 13 openings though. Not planning on finishing. Just trudging along so that when Tuesday comes I'll be in the spray room pretty quick.
