Re: Things I Hate

I'll take some tomorrow. Put it this way. All I had left on this remodel was lay on 3/8 rock in the bathroom and utility room mud, texture, etc. Figured an easy day. Go to make sure walls are solid and realize it is two layers of particle board under a layer of particle board paneling. Start poking around and realize the panels have pretty much just been hovering in the air for 40 years. Little if any framing.

Spent the afternoon gutting the bathroom walls. On a positive, as soon as I had the particle board out of there, the air cleared out and I could breathe again. I have been having a severe respiratory reaction to this room, even with a mask on. So I suppose it all worked out, except now I am probably two days short on my hard deadline.

I believe I'll be taking mulch off the list of services offered.

Re: Things I Hate

I never put it on my list. Not much need for mulch in a cabinet though.

I take my cabinet waste and make it into mulch though.

Re: Things I Hate

I remember as a kid we used to play in the stuff. Around here it is fir/cedar bark-o-mulch. Lots of slivers in that stuff. Now I even look at it and I itch and start sneezing. We were tougher back then.

Re: Things I Hate

When I was at UW in the 70's they brought in a bunch of mulch that started sprouting a bunch of mushrooms. Turned out to be a new species of psilocybin and was named after our mushroom guy.....

Re: Things I Hate

No. Not OK. Don't you have some mulch to rake out more to make it look presentable?

Then, tomorrow, I'm re-screening some porch screens...hanging a chandelier, installing a dimmer switch and then traveling 1 hour to help one of my best customers get up the stairs at his beach house....where I weeded and trimmed shrubs 3 days ago.

Re: Things I Hate

Coming out of a customers home to see a puddle of liquid and a steady dripping of red fluid.

Jumped in and drove it along with my 14 foot trailer to the mechanic about a mile away holding my breath.

I'm waiting for the prognosis. Calling my other 3 projects to update and delay.
