Re: Things I Hate

Calling to confirm work tomorrow and finding out that a transformer blew and I now have no work tomorrow. I could work normally, as it is demo. However, it is in a back bathroom with no light.

Oh well. More time on my place. Of course, now I need to work Saturday.

I don't usually work under conditions where I would need one. Besides, I'll just swap days around. I am trying to get our place ready for 20+ people on Easter, so I don't mind the extra time today to work on the bathroom remodel. Heck, I am still unpacking and organizing from the move last Easter on top of that.

I don't have a crew to keep busy, so it is just me to worry about.

Headlamps and flashlights. I've installed flooring in the middle of the night with the power out due to a storm. Unfortunately, for demo nothing replaces a circ saw or recip saw.

Right now I'm hating eCab Lazy Sue cabinets. I'm doing something it doesn't like and it's doing something I don't like. We're piss'n each other off.

Homeowner designed ikea kitchen install. These pieces are the door casing. Don't think it could have been tighter. Been there, done that. Except it was in a 16 unit apartment complex designed by apartment owner.

All the more reason I like a van. I can take a nap in the back and no one sees me in there...

thats good stuff. I miss the van I had years ago. Was hippie carpeted out with tool storage under seats and lay down bed. Had a 12" tv I'd watch during lunch and yes, the occasional nap happened

I find the my tool bag makes for a good pillow, and the painting tarps are my blankets...

I hate the combination subway tile walls and epoxy grout. My arms are noodles now after that battle.

I did quite a bit of framing and even some trim with a generator when i was in my early 20s doing 1,600 - 2,000 sq ft boxes outside Smithville and Bastrop. The Miller Bobcat i have on a trailer is the best generator i have used, and i used it a lot at that tine, but i have a regular generator and portable welder that would serve outside the Bobcat. No head lamps for me I can relate to working into the middle of the night though

A year ago id agree with you on the skill and sawzall, but Milwaukee Fuel changed my mind. They will not let you down. I can plug a battery into a charger in my truck , and i have 6. It would take a long time to kill 6 of their batteries.

Instead i would say nothing would take the place of a good laborer for demo.
