Re: Things I Hate

Then the property is how the pricing is developed. The home looks like something on the order of $125K, but since the pic is cropped it's really hard to tell.

Isn't the property and home usually all inclusive? :

Weak sauce.

Down here a lake house rents for 1000 a day, 800 a day if its over a week, for over 100 days a year.

No trusses, hand cut rafters. No it does not stay like that, it gets paint. See we don't build like you do because it would never last. We have little buggs here that eat the wood you use.
What did you say??? Cedar, no they eat that too

Yep, most of the lake houses here are dated 3 and 4 bedroom ranches, house is worth half the land coat on the lake. Or its a multi million dollar mansion sometimes they are right next to each other

The rental pool on the lake is newer development, 5 years or so. Even on a golf course a 3 bedroom bouse is renting for 1500 a month. Most rent is between 650 and 1200. So the lake rentals arent proportional to regular rentals. The lake rentals are usually decked out to the nines too, which keeps me in plenty of work with the older inventory.

I hate how a thread gets somewhat derailed by nonsensical arguments of different building practices in different parts of the world.

Still funny though.

What did you expect from a framer and a deck builder

My father who was a drywall pioneer, he's 90 years old. He always referred to himself as a perf-a-tape applicator.

Aleve! It's the wonder drug. Two in the morning and two at night. It starts working after the second day so you have to be patient. Good luck!

Because I don't leave 2" vents exposed, we either use soffit aluminum vents or insert round aluminum ones, or altogether the whole roof gets foam so no venting is necessary.
Don't try to get smart with me,old man, I bet my decks look better than yours.
