I remember having what I think was a panic attack years back. Got a stop work order on one job (owner did a lot of work with no permits over the years and city wanted development permits) and my only employee quit the day before starting a big job. I woke up next and thought about the day ahead of me and just about had a heart attack. got through it but took a long break after those jobs got wrapped up .

I have been slamming water this week and just maintaining.

On an extended Marlin fishing trip in the early 80's to Baja....

Buddy & I ate some bad Juevos Rancheros....

On the second day that we didn't make Happy Hour the American doctor that was there got in to our room....

He gave each of us some sort of injection......

Three hours later I was wandering around half dazed and smelled burgers cooking on mesquite....

Told the dude burn me a bunch of them....Ate six with no bun

Felt great....doc said I wanted the charcoal in my system....

Also told us for every waking hour drink two bottles of bottled water.

Said his biggest concern was dehydration & it's consequences.

Scolded us that if we drank half in water compared to booze we would be way healthier.....

Also told us he had never seen two guys drink as much as we did & be able to function....much less go marlin fishing the next morning...

Re: Things I Hate

When a customer tries to tell me I'm charging to much they think the job should only take this long and it will be simple.

If you don't like the rate your more than welcome to find someone else. I'm not leaving the house because you only want to pay half hour labor I have minimums for a reason.

Re: Things I Hate

Bank drive thru Friday after 5. Been a decade probably since I went to the bank on a Friday thru a drive thru.

Wife asked me to pick something up when I went to town to meet a client.

Forgot my wallet. Spare credit card is expired and I loaned my C note in the dash box to a guy the other day

Hope one of these ladies remembers , I don't have my ID either and I can't ask them to go ask Jay Don because I'm sure his ass went to the house at about 4:15.

Maybe YOU'RE not using it for gaming... the hacker at the cell phone company or at one of the apps you've downloaded? That's another story...

Going to call Monday. Was wondering if that was a possibility.

Turn off the data unless you are using it. It's as simple as that.

Re: Things I Hate

our dock/lift installer guy that we've used for 15 years, sent all of his customers a letter in march, saying if we prepay we'll "be at the top of the list". and after those are done, the post pay will be on a first come/first served basis.

my thoughts were, we've been a customer for 15 years. shouldn't i be close to the top of your list? talked to neighbors, they were a little taken aback by the whole deal also.

but, like idiots, we all prepaid.

none of our lifts/docks are in, it's june 2...and he got real short with neighbor who called and asked what's going on with 87 different excuses. he hasn't answered my voicemail/text yet.

we'll be looking for somebody else for fall removal, "if he even gets them installed"...and for subsequent years services.
