Telemarketing Call

from India on behalf of, I think it was, United Home Services.

I told him he was intruding and very soon he is calling me a 12 letter word meaning someone who has sex with their own mother.

Who teaches these non-native speakers of English such words?

But when you think about it, it may only mean someone who has sex with someone's mother.

Since he was provoked and I wasn't, did I 'win'?

Re: Telemarketing Call

more important, who is teaching these guys the art of closing the sale? I can't recall anyone ever suggesting name calling as a way to overcome buyer resistance
Maybe I am wrong. Did you buy from him?

Beating an Indian telemarketer in a battle of wits is an accomplishment equal to beating a small child at bench press.

Intelligence is not a strong point for these guys.

Re: Telemarketing Call

I didn't buy, but from tapes I heard on a TV expose program, when they get to name calling they know the sale is lost and at some point the FTC steps in.

This same guy called me before and back then he also lost the mind/word game battle so he was already wanting to even the score.

For me it's a chance to work on my improv techniques.

With all our info out there, I'd think we'd get calls or junk e-mails the whole day to the extent that the phone and the e-mail is useless.
I have to wonder if our provider has struck some deal with these pests.
