So I Got Stuck....

...and heres some pictures.

Just some info, we were on our way back out when we got stuck. I made it all the way to the back of the 40 acres property to turn around where there was a little dry land, but coming back was the bad part.

The ruts were deeper and my front transfer case got hung up and I coudnt move. 3 trucks got stuck trying to get me out lol, so we had to get a local farmer to come back with his old John Deere 50 and pull us out.

Lesson learned.

It could happen to anybody, Dually's just flat suck in the mud, 4x4 or not.

I have been stuck on wet gas in a dually.
The double back wheels just some how totally screw up the idea of off road traction.

Sounds like they may act like rolling skids. I never thought about it.

Re: So I Got Stuck....

Yeah Gene...hes was with. Hes 3 now and loved every minute of playin in the mud lol!

Yeah, the dually doesnt do nearly as good as single in off roading. I was honestly surprised I made it all the way through the first time. It was the ruts I made coming back that got us. I stepped out and it went up to just below my knee in some spots. Average of shin height though.

It was fun, but cost me a total of $150 to get out between paying the farmer and buddies for gas to come get me.

And yeah Tscar, bow season opened last weekend. I was planning on checking some trail cams but got sidetracked.

Re: So I Got Stuck....

Lol if that doesnt bring back memories. I took my wife way back in and down this long gasline one day to show her where i took a deer out of. Preplanning isnt one of my strong suits, she had to be to work in 45 mins and it was raining like a bastard. Needless to say going down a pipeline thats really steep, that i had to come back up, in december, when its raining really hard was not a good idea. I made it about halfway back up before i slid backwards for about 100 yards. She was definitely late for work that day.

I also got stuck when she was pregnant with our first kid. Due any day, she was tired of being preggo so we tried the bumpy road trick. Thankfully she waited 2 more days to have the kid or i coulda been delivering one at 19 years old all by myself.
