Re: "Positive" Values From Your Past

I liked to joke that my dad taught me how to read minds.
It always made the day go better if I had the next thing he was going to need ready.

Down to his last welding rod, here's another handful, etc.

I worked for a hay farmer in high school, he sold strictly to dairies, one day I was setting gopher traps and had walked by some garbage in the field he told me to quit focusing on the ground and pay attention to your surroundings. (Paraphrased)

In other words "if it needs done, do it!"

Over the holidays, my mom found this letter written to my grandfather from his grandfather. I think it fits this thread.

Predicting what your boss (dad) needs next, I imagine, is a very good thing. Not exactly a value, more a talent but good non the less.

The type is too small the letter. I tried blowing it up some but it just got more distorted.

Re: "Positive" Values From Your Past

Reg, I guess the underlying value I learned from "reading minds" was patience. Probably had to be there....

You think he may be trying to even the score tool wise? I remember digging "foxholes" with dads double bladed axe among other tool atrocities.

Yeah I think I'm still paying for hitting the van with the tractor when I was 10.
