the bears proved that their 1st place ranking in teh north is a farce.

i cant see smith losing his starting spot to the backup though.. smith is seasoned..

Barring any breakdown from Smith, I think his position is safe for this year, but maybe not next year. Colin (I can't spell or pronounce his last name) has gotten snaps all year in certain situations. That may increase after this showing. Colin is exciting, Smith is boring. I don't think that Colin had any long runs vs. the Bears, but he had some earlier in the season.

First in division maybe....hopefully Packers make it to the big game for a rematch against the Texans! I sure would hate to see the Falcons get spanked.

Giants will beat the Pack! Thats right you heard it hear first.
I still dont buy into Atlanta till they win some playoff games, and I dont buy into minnesota success either.
We have seen so much mind boggling football this year with last place teams beating elite nothing would surprise me.

We must be setting a record for overtime game in a season too.

I'm not buying into Atlanta going anywhere in the playoffs yet, they've backslid in the last couple of weeks imo...but I'm still lovin' the wins so far, even the fugly ones.

But yeah, I don't relish the thought of playing Green Bay if we get that far.

Not picking on your Falcons Just saying they have to beat the big boys in the playoffs before you can get to excited.

No worries Tom, I've been a fan since '94, I've been through the ringer...many times.

Even as a diehard fan, I still see what's actually going on during the games. Don't get me wrong, if we get to the playoffs, I'll talk a lot smack...but don't anyone be expecting me to be putting $ on the line against Green Bay or similar.

But still....I'm pretty excited about 9-1.

Gotta take the joy where you can with a team history like ours.

So I like Detroit getting points at home, Washington getting points and new England to cover bigtime today.

Re: NFL-2012-13 Season

This was a surprise to me.

Jim Harbaugh has informed Alex Smith that Colin Kaepernick will start Sunday, per source. Said decision not based on health

Yes and no, I think that Smith was something like 23/25 before his concussion. Probably mostly dink passes though.

I'm still gonna give Harbaugh the nod over either of us when it comes to the qb decision.

Re: NFL-2012-13 Season

I'm no Smith fan and Kaepernick shows flashes of great promise.

That said, it's not often that a established player is benched after a injury recovery of one game by a 2nd year player with one start.

Smith was originally the top pick in his draft (bad pick) and Kaepernick was only a 2nd round pick (great pick?).

I guess I'm a little excited to see how it turns out. Smith was boring and Kaepernick is exciting. I never thought that Harbaugh would pick potential over safe.
