My New Companion...

I posted here back in May that I had to say goodbye to my 15 year old friend and companion...Rambo.
I decided it was time to bring another into my life.
I took this one from the care of the local SPCA 12 days ago.
She is a little over 4 months old and she and her sister were strays.
They had her listed as a Labrador mix but she is awfully tiny. After her first vet visit, the vet thought she resembled a Blue Lacey. I'd never heard of that breed so looked it up and sure enough is a spittin' image of a Blue Lacey puppy. She probably is mixed with something else very small and I don't see her getting very big at all. In fact, this may be about it.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Cleo.

Pretty pup!

Congrats. The best cure for the loss of an old dog is saving a new one. She is very cute and I am sure she will bond with you just as your old friend did.

If she could, she would. I pretty much dog-proofed the areas she can roam.
She has a stubborn streak and wants to bite when playing. She hasn't learned to "mouth" instead of biting. Though she looks sweet and innocent in the picture, I think in her mind she believes she is a full-grown Rotweiler.

Re: My New Companion...

None of that matters as long as we can make sure she votes Rep. when she's of age.

Maybe I'll train her to growl everytime she hears "Obama".

Re: My New Companion...

Her teeth are most likely itchy from coming in. Pups always want to chew. Get her a few small bones from the butcher to chew on. It will help that. She will really like the smoked one. We have a couple places that sell them at the local market. I have to get some for my sisters pooch when we go up there.

Cute dog.
I had a cat named Cleo once - named it after the fish from Pinocchio.

Dignified appearance, wise eyes... if this dog gives you any advice, I'd listen. Seems like it knows what's going on.
