Re: My Ex Was So Stupid...

My ex was adamant about the order loads of laundry were done in. I always did work clothes first (so I had duds to wear to go make money tomorrow), then jeans & tshirts, with whites & towels last.

She said I should do my work clothes last so 'everyday' clothes don't get put into a dirty machine.

OK, I said... I do jeans & tshirts, then the whites & towels, and my work clothes last. So......... how does the machine 'get clean' a few days later when I toss in more jeans & tshirts?

"It just does!" was the response.

Yep. I have a nice little condo now which is nice and quiet for example.

Re: My Ex Was So Stupid...

I can deal with my wife, it's easy. She gets up at 5:30a and leaves at 6:45a. I get up at 7:15a. She gets home at 4:30p and I get home at 6:30p. She goes to bed at 8:15p and I go to bed at 12a+.

We never see each other. That's how you make a marriage work

She has a car heater quirk too. She won't leave the heat on in the car. So in the morning she will use her remote starter to warm the car up, but when she gets in the car it's still freezing in there because she thinks having the heater on while it's warming up will hurt the car.

There's another thread going on right now that mentions the same exact thing.

Not just women, but many guys don't get the fact that turning up a thermostat is not like revving an engine. It doesn't warm up any faster.

If the room is at 60, and you turn it up to 90, it won't get to the desired temp any faster.

There really is NO way to convince some people of this.

Well considering the thermostat is set to the desired temp, it will take longer because it is set higher.

My truck has a 6.0L engine and it warms up pretty quick. It's very nice.

Ha! It got up to 37 here today... I was actually excited it got so "warm"

I try not to use the heater in my truck, except to defrost .. helps us adjust to the cold weather.

Modern Marvels said tinfoil was never made from Tin.

My GF has the car control quirk also. She turns EVERYTHING off before turning the truck off. Radio, AC, everything. Is convienced its bad for it to do otherwise. Dont have to worry about the heat here. Had a leak in the heating system so I plugged the inlet and outlet from the engine side and removed the hoses. When we hit the 60's here its record lows.

LOL!

Wife just told me she thinks her logic is from the days when ringer machines were used. The wash water would get very dirty. She was also taught to wash whites first for this reason. There was no rinse cycles, no self-cleaning machines.

There is some logic to that. If you have a marginal battery or alternator, turning the accessories off a couple miles from your destination can let the battery charge up a little more and could mean the difference between a start and not. I had a friend with a mid '70's F100 and if he shut it off with out at least letting it idle for a few minutes without accessories he'd get maybe a coupe secs cranking time then it was a pushstart
