Mad Max: Fury Road - Great Movie, Or Greatest Movie?

Normally I'm extremely skeptical of reboots of any kind. I worry of petty things like whether a new director and cast will keep canon, will eschew product placement, and will most importantly, feel free to make their own movie, without being bound by what has come before in a series.

Enough of my snooty opinions though because holy **** this was the best ****ing thing!
If you haven't seen this, GO RIGHT NOW! It's more important than whatever you're doing today.

If you have any kind of a heart condition, NEVER SEE THIS MOVIE!

It's edge-of-your-seat action from literally about 20 seconds into the movie.

Charlize Theron was perfect(duh). The storm scene was the scariest thing ever.

If you want to see the best pure action movie of probably the last decade or more, go see this immediately.

Ah ha, I knew it.

Easy Gibson is in actuality Mel Gibson and he is trying to ...ah...

...trying to...

well, I don't know what the hell he is trying to do but I did manage to equate him and Mel Gibson in conjunction with one of Mel Gibson's most famous rolls as Mad Max.

So there.

Andy.

And I will go see the movie.

I really liked it- it has no plot whatsoever. Just non stop action with characters with minimal backstory the car chase scene was cool

Amazing movie. All practical effects, little CGI. Even the superchargers are real and operational. Was that even needed? No, but cool.

I thought it sucked. Honestly. Yes, the cars and chases were cool, but they tried way too hard.

I know 2 people that walked out of it. I don't have time to see movies anymore. I'll rent it at some point. I wasn't a huge fan of the other mad max movies anyway.

You should see this one in the theatre- I honestly don't think it would be near as cool at home. I'm not a huge movie guy but it was worth the 2 hrs and $10

Mad Max just did you a favor. You now know that you have two expendable people in your life. That's two less Christmas cards you have to mail this year.

Definitely see this in theatres. The storm scene alone makes it a must for the big screen.

Wooooooooo!

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road - Great Movie, Or Greatest Movie?

I saw it in 3D, I think i would have liked it better without, made it too animated looking. I'm going to have to see it again. It was weird though because it did seem like a caricature of a Mad max movie...but it WAS a mad max movie so I don't know. The Gas town boys were awesome though I want to go jumping from truck to truck doing flips and sh!t, put me up on the end of a tall tick and throw me over to a tanker...so much fun

Road Warrior was good but the original mad max was in the top 10 movies ever made.

Yeah, I didn't realize George Miller did this current one. How about that?

The prop design team from Fury Road should be knighted.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road - Great Movie, Or Greatest Movie?

Just saw it this afternoon. Guitar dude was the perfect amount of comedic relief. Was overjoyed when he bit it though. Props and cars were off the meter. I would love to have a job building those cars, wouldn't be work at all.

I heard that all the engines featured were actually functional.

I don't know if that means all the cars were actually drivable 100%, but none of the supercharger footage was CGI or anything.

Much respect.

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road - Great Movie, Or Greatest Movie?

I really liked the the crazy over the top monster classic cars and trucks

I kinda think they could have added a couple more minutes of backstory in and made things tie in at the beginning and it would have been easier for some to understand

Some folks got on the elevator with me last night who had just seen it. They had that exact response when I asked them about it. They said it was totally a guy movie.
