A Little Surprise

I left a battery charger on one of my trucks overnight. When I went to disconnect it, this is what I found when I opened the hood.

Re: A Little Surprise

So...how did you remedy the situation?

Looks like a harmless snake but, you guys in Texas have different species than we have here....is it venomous?

From my vantage point it looks like a rat snake, but a little hard to tell from the pic. If so, no it's not venomous.

Snakes really do not bother me but I freaking HATE the startle factor!!!

But I would be extra careful removing him, getting bit hurts like hell no matter what the snake! I got bit by a 4' Bull snake once, fricken hurt!

That's one of the good ones. He does more good than harm.

Can't remember the last snake I killed on purpose.

Re: A Little Surprise

The worst part was that I dropped the hood when I saw it and had to reach under and press the hood release to open it up again. Fortunately, it was still in the same place. I squirted it with some wasp spray and it slithered off. Pretty sure it was harmless except for the surprise factor. I do not like surprises.

Me either. Scared to death of them but if I find one in the yard, I use a shovel to get him over to the neighbors yard. Like the snake knows what a fence means....

Rattlers are for the most part not a threat unless you're a dumbass. Water moccasins on the other hand are the spawn of Satan and must be killed, with fire if necessary lol. Only snake besides a large indigo that has ever chased me. Sumbitches are mean.

We have a snake here called a diamond back water snake. They are not venomous, but very aggressive. They will chase you down too.
