I thought the same thing. One of my favorite movies growing was who's Harry Crumb.

Re: John Candy Died 25 Years Ago

I was 11. My friends and I were just starting to become little bastards and of course Mel Brooks, SNL, and Monty Python movies were everything to us.
Spaceballs was one of the best things we had going because it was the Mel Brooks, John Candy crossover. Our satirical worlds colliding.

That day, for no reason, my Mom took me out of school early and brought me to an ice cream place. I knew something was off and she told me that her and my Dad were separating.
On the way home, I heard on the radio that John Candy had died. I remember experiencing a thought pattern and internal feeling that today I would describe as, "well this is just ****ing perfect." I was 11 though, and that amount of "**** everything" was not yet in my consciousness or vernacular.

Thus began the downward spiral of introversion and disappointment that ultimately led me to construction, and all of you.

I think of John Candy every time I see a snow shovel.

Time flies. I would have guessed 10-12 years gone.

Re: John Candy Died 25 Years Ago

Sadly, I think this means we're coming up on 25 years without Chris Farley and Phil Hartman too.
