If you aren't serious about collecting Pokemon you should probably give that to a young child who is.

WTF is this pokemon business all about? I having people ask me about it like I'm supposed to know. Kids from the youth group I teach were talking to me about it and wandering around with their phone in their eyeballs.

Pokemon has been around for a long time. It was around when I was a kid and it's stayed strong throughout the years so kids these days are into it too. I think it's 15-20 years old now?

It's a fictional world, usually in a video game where you catch these creatures in the wild, train them, and fight other trainers for dominance.

They just put out a game that requires you to walk around your own environment; city or countryside or whatever, and catch pokemon. There's other features but I haven't tried it yet and probably won't.

Funny, our electrician was wandering around site playing it and one of the drywallers was out in the woods behind the site during lunch catching pokemon.

I don't care what they do during their lunch hour as long as they don't put themselves or anyone else at risk.

Re: I Think I Found A Pokemon

Pokemon Go is the greatest feat of social engineering I've ever seen.

Imagine what it would take to get small groups of people to get off their couch, wander into a neighborhood they've never been to, then stand on a corner staring blankly at a phone for upwards of 5 minutes at a time.
Bam. Pokemon.

It's been really funny seeing it around by me.
It'll be like 1 or 2 in the morning. Crowd of youths gathered in a darkened corner of a block all standing in a circle. What's going on? What are they up to? Oh, of course. Pokemon.

Re: I Think I Found A Pokemon

So, why do you need a phone if you capture a live animal? If I go out and get a rattle snake will I win? I can get a gator, a tiger, and a snake all live all wild, what do I do after I catch them, tbough the tiger I wont be holding its 600 freaking pounds, actually I wont even be touching it.

Video games that get kids off the couch. Who woulda thunk it.
