I Made It. The Cat Is Gone.

Since last Christmas, I've had one of my best friends, her daughter, and her cat living in my house. I used to think my house was pretty large. As of their arrival, it became microscopic.
I gave up my guest bedroom and my dining room to house my friend and her daughter. I hadn't initially realized that I was also giving up my adjoining living rooms, but upon the cat's arrival it soon became apparent that both of those rooms were going to smell like a cat's ass until the cat left.

Well, that day was today. They moved out, and my life is restored to its previous cat-less state. I cannot express in words how happy this makes me, but I had to make a post to try.
My front door is open to the outdoors for the first time in months, because the stupid cat was an indoor cat(the hell is that even).
As soon as I'm 100% sure this kid is asleep, the cigar is getting lit.
Tomorrow, the fumigation begins.

Goodbye, cat. Thanks for reminding me why I don't live with cats.

"One of" my best friends. My wife's actual best friend. They were each others' maids of honor. Known each other the whole time. That sort of thing. I was "new kid" in the high school we all went to, having arrived just at the tail end of grade school. She and I have only been friends for 25 years. A paltry sum compared to she and my wife.

An outside cat? You mean, a cat?

I'd never even heard of such a thing as an inside cat. You mean, it just sits here and mooches off me all damn day? What is that? Litter box? You kidding me with this?

I grew up in the woods with two dogs and 5 cats. Never had a litter box or poop bags. I didn't even know those were a thing until I was in my mid 20's. Why would you ever pick up another creature's poop? Just let it go outside in the woods!

Pretty certain if an alien spies on our cities they would believe the animals would be in charge. Pets walk people around with leashes tied to them making people hold it, all while the human is waiting with a bag to pick up their waste and carry it until they reach a safety deposit box to put it into.

On a side note, really glad to hear about your friend get back up on her feet. Even if she is a cat person...

Tough situation but it's always really refreshing to hear about people helping people. It makes one think there is hope for the world.

Re: I Made It. The Cat Is Gone.

The bummer about it ending is our kids separating. They were born two weeks apart and have been friends the whole time, obviously. They LOVED living together. It was effortless parenting while she was here. Barely saw them. They're 3 and they have inside jokes. I'm usually the butt of those jokes, but whatever, as long as they're not in my hair I'm willing to let that slide.
Today was tough for me, just because I can wrap my head around what they can't. They'll obviously still hang, just like they used to when we were 30 minutes apart, which we are again now, but it was a cool Brady Bunch kinda thing we had going for a minute there.

But hey, let's focus on the positives. It's somehow sweatshirt weather in August(60 degrees and 0 humidity!?!?) and I'm halfway down this Churchill, drinking a glass of wine on my front porch. I really nailed it on the wine pick too. I was in a bit of a rut, but went Tempranillo and scored big. They had me at, "notes of road tar." How could I resist?

Dead cat (black one), new cat (gray one).

The wife is happy, all that matters.

Inner, I'll tell ya what. Between parenting, working this insane schedule I set up for myself this summer, and maintaining the general rigors of life, I've had virtually no time to so much as fantasize about having sex with a cat. I don't know where you find the time, but cheers, mate. God bless you.

If it helps get your motor turning, it was a long haired tabby.

Easy, my man, you've done it again.

I asked that before she moved in, I bet he never even tried. Not even an accidental bathroom incident.

Easy, if you ever plan on giving us the real Kowboy story, I bet you could put his grade 6 writing style to shame. You could be the next Janet Dailey.

Warner was right. Not even an accidental bathroom incident.

If this experience has taught me anything, it's that I've got it pretty good.
When her ex husband used to show up to pick their daughter up in his car, freshly adorned with Lyft sticker, to bring her back to his parents house, where he lived, as a 35 year old, it was a solid reminder that ain't no pussy, human or otherwise, is worth ruining your life over.

So how did the cat ruin her ex's life?
