That's the ticket.

Trying to find an off- the- shelf solution for some of this. Figuring aluminum u-channel with drop in inserts.
Needs to be a fan fold display though, so I have to hinge it while still having the panel inserts removable for changing displays year to year.
Also, they want it next week. Lol

How big is it?

For some of the stuff I used bolts and wing nuts for taking a top off so I could remove a panel. Every idiot can take two wing nut off.

36x 96 panels. 3 or 4 panels per display. They haven't decided yet... it's a week away.

I'm surrounded by amateurs!

Re: I Don't Want To Do This Thing I Have To Do.

Well, I've got the job. Deposit paid. I still don't really have any idea how I'm actually going to do this. I'm hoping the lightbulb lights on in the next couple hours so I can spend tomorrow gathering materials.
I've got emails out to all suppliers of potential materials and they've all got stock of what I'd need to make any of 3 or 4 versions of this.... thing.... once I decided which way I'm headed.

Another wrinkle is that I haven't taken a large scale custom job in the last 6 months and, I kid you not, completely forgot that I don't have a shop space anymore.

Stay tuned, this should be interesting.

Re: I Don't Want To Do This Thing I Have To Do.

My one true talent is finding talent. I should have been a corporate head hunter or something.

I have the best Rolodex of suppliers and subcontractors. I love giving people good referrals and I can't stand wasting time with suppliers. My game is so strong in North Jersey that I even know which person to talk to within each company, depending on what product you want to purchase.
Shout out to Emco Plastics who called me literally 2 minutes after I emailed them to clarify what I wanted quoted, then had me the quote back literally 2 minutes after that.
That's a 4 minute turnaround. What's better than that?

You might be squandering your real talent. How about politics instead?

There's a chance I could find myself in local government in the next decade, if I get to a place where I feel like I have the time. Maybe when my kid is in high school and I don't have to schlep him everywhere or something. I dunno.

Forget about politics, being a sports agent would be way better.

I've often wondered what my life would be like if I put Scott Boras in charge of it for a week.

Re: I Don't Want To Do This Thing I Have To Do.

This morning I wrote a long todo list of all the important stuff I have put off too long. Went to take a leak before getting started. Then decided I should get the snow off the gutter trailer so itís ready to go next week.

I spent the next four hours getting all my trucks and trailers out of my parking lot, renting a backhoe, pushed all the snow out of the parking lot, put everything back and now Iím ready to call it a day and start drinking!

Id vote for you in a heartbeat. If you ever do it, you have to promise to post any debates here. Man, will they be hilarious.

So sorry.

Lord willing this goes smoothly. Shipping on the Ides of March. Not auspicious.
Show is early April. Pictures to follow, of course.
