I Don't Want To Do This Thing I Have To Do.

Monday procrastination thread?

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for things I can put off work with. I fixed my laptop cover hinge. I picked up a prescription for my kid. I sat with my bank manager to change the login settings on my business account. I'm pretty much down to it. The dishes and the laundry are done. I've eaten lunch, and had an unnecessary coffee.

There's really just nothing left to do but design and built this stupid display thing that I really don't want to design and build right now. It's annoyingly large, needs to be annoyingly lightweight, and has an annoyingly short timeline for completion. My contact for the project is also annoying because he's just such a jovial guy but is one of those designers that has so few opinions or real world building experience that you end up doing most of the R&D and design for them, without it being really truly reflected in the price of the build unless you're really really careful about not accidentally thinking about it when you're supposed to be relaxing.

What aren't you doing right now that you're supposed to be doing right now?

I've been on a big lentil kick lately. They're so cheap and so delicious. I make a bag of lentils, throw in some beans and whatnot, then just eat that slop mixture until it runs out.
I realized the other day I've been accidentally vegan for weeks now.

I'm supposed to be sourcing fixtures and tile for a bathroom remodel.

Instead, I burned time in P&R and read all about the pre-game for the NK summit. ....damned, I gotta kick the habit one of these days.

Is anybody here an expert on trade show displays?

I could use one of those. I have many questions, and none of them really fall under "carpentry" or "painting." I'm a babe in the woods here.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread on one a few years back.

Internet research is a great time waster...

It's ok, I've successfully kicked the can with a pedantic email to the customer regarding a stupid detail I probably could have solved on my own, but under the guise of confirmation, I'm making them say out loud. This should buy me another hour at least.

I'll use it to hunt for that trade show thread.

A good friend of mine owns a company that does them exclusively. I can forward your questions.

I am posting to this ridiculous thread when I should be calling the city of Corona Building Department inquiring about a plan check status.

Being Mr. Mom is the hardest job in the world. Women are built for it, I am not.

I rather enjoy saying that I have a new understanding of how it is that some species of animals can eat their young.

But don't worry, the children are safe for now. I am only a Mr. Mom for part of the weekdays. Most of the rest of the time the little jewels are safely at school and out of my hair... and my reach.

Andy.
I had to be Mr Mom on Saturday, it was pretty easy, we went to a bar and had a few beers and packs of saltine crackers. I could do this more often.

Thanks.

I can't even seem to formulate a question that would help me solve the problem.

Should have stuck with Mr. Mom life.
Strongly disagree with Andy. Customers are WAY more annoying than kids.

I built a huge one for Advantage lumber's at IBS last year. If I could post pics I could probably even find it. Got in the finalist for outdoor booth too

Here's the secret for most of it. Aluminum, panels, prefab...

Let's crowdsource this a bit. What are some of the specs?

Have you considered buying a pre-owned one and modifying it?
