I will be just barely returning from a camping trip, but I usually work my way through dinners that each of my kids does. Oh, how I wish they would just do one dinner all together.

Invite them over to your place and it solves that problem... less work, and they can (help you) cleanup...

It's not quite that simple because each has secondary families as they are married. We would need a dang auditorium. That, and not everyone gets along.

And I wouldn't be surprised if I did a little work in the morning. After all, it is Thursday.

I have never been a big fan of turkey unless it is deep fried.

Camping. Doubt we do a turkey. Maybe a chicken, but steak gets my vote.

Gonna be at Smith Mountain Lake at my grandmother's house with my family. The work happens Friday, that's the day after Thanksgiving.

Re: How Will You Be Spending Thanksgiving?

Probably going to work. The wife is 1000 miles away, daughter has plans. Why waste the day.

It's been a long time since I didn't have to cook for many, so working is probably a break.

In my younger days I'd go fishing. Slayed them quite a few times on holidays, no one else out there.

One Christmas morning when visting MIL in Corpus I took my fishing daughter with to PINS. We were taking turns on the one rod/reel I took and were having a ball til I went back to the truck to get another lure only to find out I had locked myself out.

Re: How Will You Be Spending Thanksgiving?

They typical MOP is:
Kids go with mother in law up to Pymatuning Lake on Wednesday. My wife's whole family will be there Weds till Sunday. They eat in a log cabin by the lake, or outside if its nice enough.

My wife and I go to my aunt's for thanksgiving. Most of my family will be there including mother, plenty of aunts/uncles/cousins, and my grandparents. We eat and hang around a few hrs then drive up to the lake to meet the kids and in laws around 11 PM and spend the weekend up there.

This year, my brother in law is flying in from Korea. He is in the USAF and it will be the first time he's been home for this holiday in a few years. We MAY go up to the lake early and miss my aunt's. I hate to skip out on time with the grandparents. They are getting up there in years.
