Houston Fire At Construction Site

Now...what was Jaws working on today?

Houston fire crews respond to massive fire at construction site

Houston firefighters responded Tuesday to a massive, 3-alarm fire just west of the city's downtown area.

The fire, which was first reported at 12:30 p.m. local time, was located at a residential building that was under construction, Click2Houston.com reported. Large flames could be seen shooting from the building and turning into dark smoke seen for miles.

Houston Fire Department spokesman Capt. Ruy Lozano told the Houston Chronicle that the only people inside were construction workers and it is believed they all got out safely. He said one man was rescued as he prepared to jump to safety.

That's a big arse fire. As a former firefighter I see some problems with how large it actually is especially if there were workers inside.

It will be interesting to find out the cause.

That water spraying into building looks about as effective as me peeing into a pool to fill it up. That's one massive fire. Crazy how quick it spread.

My supplier was supplier the framing for a big returning home and they were using that firestop lumber. Wonder if that would have helped it stop spreading.

What is the name of that college where they build the massive fires?

What's so mean about that? Everyone likes a nice fire.

If that's the case then there should have been some serious fire watching going on while the welding was being preformed. I was thinking poor house keeping (trash piles) and something like a cigarette butt igniting it.
