In my younger days I would have taken his pants and wallet beating him wouldn't have been enough.

Perhaps the kick was excessive. Reminded me of the street scene in the Godfather..Sonny vs. Carl, was it?

Yes.

Been in a number of scrapes, got scars and damaged cartlidge/bones from it. Not kid fights.

Never once seen a man spit on another man. If a dude spit on me I'm going to aim to crush/damage organs, not just beat his ass. Permenamt damage, and well deserved

Yeah, but he was unconscious a couple punches earlier.

Obviously, cool, calm logic wasn't in play at that point.

And it doesn't matter what someone else's punishment was or lack of punishment was for doing something else. That has no bearing on this incident.

Andy.
I don't understand this mentality. At all.

The guy size doesn't mean anything Andy. He took his safety and his own hands when he addressed the other gentleman.

Any time you have a confrontation with somebody you should keep in mind they may not be the type of person you are. They may be the type of person who will at the drop of a hat start throwing fists.

Well deserved beating

What Deck for is earlier about the boy's statement is legit. Even in high school I saw guys get beaten pretty badly at the cemetery for less.

Open doors, take your hat off, pull out chairs, say ma'am, know how to fight and don't be a puss. All part of the upbringing

As ridiculous as it may sound from my current place in life, there in an envelope in my gun safe with instructions for my wife. Call my brother (business first), call this bondsman, call this criminal attorney, use this account for deposit to attorney and paying the bondsman.

That envelope will never get used I hope, but I prepare for eventualities, and this is one circumstance she definitely would need it

Street fighting isn't nice. A first punch KO doesn't change the level of beating they'll get.

Some thin skins here.
Belittle my Mom or my sisters, there is probably going to be trouble.
Belittle me? I've got thicker skin than that to have to resort to violence.
The old sticks and stones thing I guess.

I can understand that. I still maintain it is aggressors fall. They bring it on themselves. People should keep in mind that just because they one way doesn't mean whoever they're talking to does.

People should be careful who and what they provoke. Just because it's not a serious insult to you doesn't mean it isn't to somebody else, and it is that person's choice how they respond to the provocation. This used to be a simple matter of playground education. 0 tolerance has struck at that from existence allowing retards to walk around thinking they are able to say things they really aren't to the wrong person.

Re: He Picked The Wrong Guy To Spit On

I will say I have a lot of respect for dudes who can control their anger/emotions. Probably the baddest dude in the mma gym in town maintains outside the cage he would NEVER fight for any reason that wasn't life and death. Not an insult or spitting etc..

He says " you boys oughta charge rent for the space they take up in your heads" when younger guys hold a grudge and start trash talking etc...

I doubt many people would put Mario to the test but I think he's dead serious. Not his bag. He'd likely say a prayer for the damaged person who made the insult/provocation

Re: He Picked The Wrong Guy To Spit On

Kind of reminds me of lunch money shake down. Do you hand it over or do you fight? It's just a couple bucks.

In reality, this is a nuanced topic.

Everyone realises that there are frequently preludes to fights? Get close and talk trash, stare from a distance, etc. If you don't understand the rules and the progression, it can be tougher to avoid a fight. You aren't the one to decide there is or isn't going to be a fight, the other guy has a say in it. Some places, backing down gets a beating.

It isn't macho, just local reality.

Say something in one case, and you hurt their feelings. The same thing, different location can get you shot. I tried to explain this to my kids, but they seemed to find it incomprehensible.

Re: He Picked The Wrong Guy To Spit On

I'm old enough now, that I choose to practice a little filosofie on my fellow man now and again.

There was a scholar and once upon a time athlete by the name of Joseph Campbell. His book "The Hero's Journey", discusses the common elements of all tales, fables, books, movies, operas, beer room brawls.

Bill Moyers interviewed him over several months for a PBS special - way back in the late 80s.

This is one very short example he gave, regarding if, how and why some may conduct themselves in time of war or conflict:

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: I will participate in the game. Itís a wonderful, wonderful opera, except that it hurts. And that wonderful Irish saying, you know, ďIs this a private fight, or can anybody get into it?Ē This is the way life is, and the hero is the one who can participate in it decently, in the way of nature, not in the way of personal rancor, revenge or anything of the kind.

Let me tell you one story here, of a samurai warrior, a Japanese warrior, who had the duty to avenge the murder of his overlord. And he actually, after some time, found and cornered the man who had murdered his overlord. And he was about to deal with him with his samurai sword, when this man in the corner, in the passion of terror, spat in his face. And the samurai sheathed the sword and walked away. Why did he do that?

BILL MOYERS: Why?

JOSEPH CAMPBELL: Because he was made angry, and if he had killed that man then, it would have a personal act, of another kind of act, thatís not what he had come to do.

https://billmoyers.com/content/ep-2-...e-of-the-myth/

There's more to it than what we see, the white guy had his bike there so he wasn't wanting to get on the train. Bike boy will not be spitting on any body anytime soon
