Best wishes for a full recovery.

Your attitude, outlook and optimism shows to be strong as you are making the corner and returning to some normal activities. Maintaining a spirited existence cannot be discounted as valuable part of your recovery therapies.

This was a great update to see.

Cool to see you already doing this well. "Already". Hah. Easy for me to say, huh?

Hello folks well its time to give a update, last Monday I had a MRI scan and a doctors appointment on Thursday and got the results from the scan, I AM CANCER FREE IN MY THROAT so it looks like you get to receive more of my advise and smart ass comments !.
I am still not back to work the toll it took on me was enormous, weight loss, muscle loss, and the mental anguish get up at 8 am every day and have the dry heaves before going for radiation, receive the radiation and have to sit in the parking lot with the door open having the dry heaves come back home and crawl into bed.
My wife roasted chickens cut the meat off the bones and then made a stock for me that's all I could eat, my wife and the boys (drywall and dewalt) ate the meat.
My wife looked after me and took me for my treatments and I have no friggin idea how folks with out help get through cancer and all the work it takes the toll on the care giver is just as bad, just emptying the mail box from the barrage of medical bills is a full time job.
My wife took me every day except one the Dewalter got sick his kidneys gave out and he hung on for a month, while I went for radiation treatment the cuddle bug died, that was a DARK DAY he died right at my pillow where 30 minutes before I was resting my head, he followed my wife every where he was a pain in the ass but he was our pain and boy do I miss him.
I finished my radiation on a Wednesday at the end of my treatments I was fried, that Friday if there was a end it pill next to the bed I would have taken it that was a DARK DAY.
So while I was sick the flat screen craped out in the bedroom we just moved the smaller one from the guest room, so now I have a new smart tv in the master bedroom bigger than the one that craped out, and bigger is better in the bedroom right ?.
My computer went on the fritz so now I have a new puter and tv as it seems I may be here a while longer, and the good news I am getting screwed, the problem its by Microsoft and windows 10 before it was just vista.
I want to thank every one here on Contractor Talk for your prayers and wishes you folks got me through a tough time I logged on once in a while just to keep up with Leo, Robbie, Deckhead (I think I got the spelling right) and every one else including the once in a while home owner.
I want you all to realize I know you, I look forward to seeing what you post, sometimes when I can't sleep at 3 am I log on just to see what my friends are talking about and saying.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Tinstaafl 03-30-2018 06:24 PM

First... Hell yeah!

Second - I don't want your pup to get lost in the shuffle here, so I will take a moment to assure you that at this very minute, in New Jersey, a guy you've never met is having a drink in DeWalt's honor.
Loss of a good boy is impossible under the best of circumstances. Under yours, man I don't know how you pulled it off.

Lastly, in the middle of such a **** sandwich of a situation, it's truly remarkable to see you being so candid and I don't know, I guess just accepting of your situation and what you have to do to see your way through it. You're a tough dude.
I enjoy reading your posts and I'm glad to hear that we'll be seeing more of them.

Congrats to you.

Cheers to DeWalt. Good boy!

Easy thanks man I have a photo of him on the bed in the place before he left us, and if I can ever get windows 10 to stop screwing me I will post a couple of pics.

Well I tried to lighten the load by telling you I was getting screwed and things got bigger in the bedroom .

So glad to hear the darkness indeed had a dawn, that it didn't take the full year you prepared yourself for, and with it came answered prayers for a cancer free result... what a great day to lift praise to Him...

Sounds like you had a lot of love and support in your corner on the home front as well... Looking back on life, it's really amazing how much those who love us have done for us... Hats off to your wife and guardian angle...
Sorry to hear about Dewalt, but on the positive side, it must give you comfort to know that you each had each others back during the fight and that his last thoughts and place of comfort in passing were of you and the family...

Here's to a coming year of continued renewed strength and many more years of blessings...
