I believe that's what Michael Douglas' throat cancer was caused by.
He seems to have come through in great shape.

I just gave you a kind of snarky post down in HH. Sorry dude, really. Everybody prays and you take care of yourself and you'll pull through. In the meantime if you have the strength do your research. Lots of people have pulled through this. I know of one and he's a fire pisser...but he ended up getting a laryngectomy and speaks through a tube and after that he ended up with mersa...so he had a tough go...but he's still doing business everyday now

Prayers to you, beat it's ass.

Hello, its been a while second week of being out of bed.
It has been a long hard battle with a couple of real dark days along the way.
I am 55lbs lighter with no taste buds or saliva glands and have to sip water often (doc says both will get better with time) also the radiation burnt all my hair folicals on my face and ears no more shaving.
As i get sronger i will post more

That you're posting is a great sign and just shows your strength after going through the dark days and still looking for the bright side of things...

One great thing about the dark, it has a dawn, and prayers for a continued line of them going forward...

Let us know if there is anything we can do beyond prayers...

I was wondering how things were going too.

I was going to revive this thread on Dec.1 if there weren't any updates by then.

Glad to here you are back on the upswing. Been praying for you every day since you first posted.

Sunkist, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I didn't see this thread til this a.m.

My Dad was first diagnosed with this same thing in 2000. He had been a smoker in his younger years aswell, but the Doc said it didn't come from that.

He had surgery and 35 radiation treatments (I think that was all he could per occurance)

He recovered just fine in time from the throat cancer, They even saved part of his vocal cords, so he even talked fine.

We are all pulling and praying for you

Went today, install a shower door thats been sitting in storage for 6 months had my guy with me for the heavy stuff.
So part #s 6,9, 10,11, and 17 missing from box so all we got done was to cut the upper and lower guide rails.
Aired the tyres up on the van the rear were dead flat also charged the battery, got the van fired up last night first time in 6 months.
Charged batterys for cordles tools this weak, and replaced batterys in stud finder etc.
Rode with my guy in his pickup, it was so good to get out and start to get back to work even if we did not get much done, just to be out of the house with my tool belt and a bag full of other tools felt really good.

Hey Tim i think you sir are correct, One problem for Mr Douglas he still is not as good looking as me  you can see looking at him the toll cancer took on his body.

I tried to go back to work the Monday following brain surgery on the preceding Wednesday. Not good. The doctor told me to take 12 weeks off...and you know, it was 12 weeks until I felt like working. All I could do was drive out and watch the job....cancer knocked me off my pins, I tell you. Don't rush it, listen to the doc.

MattK 11-26-2017 01:22 PM

Hey Sun, glad you're doing better. Just saw this right now, read the whole thread. Sounds like quite the ordeal. Just remember it's always darkest before dawn...Pulling for you, bud.
