German Plane Crash

While any plane crash is a terrible situation, what a shocking revelation to find out the German plane that crashed in the French Alps was committed intentionally.
What do think we will learn from this in the coming weeks and months once they dig into this pilot's past?

Cockpit doors will once again become part of the discussion. Heaven help us if it turns out he became infatuated with a terrorist group.

You just can not imagine what the grieving families are going through.

Re: German Plane Crash

I think he thought he could drive that plane through a large portal into another dimension, like the Indonesians can do.

Re: German Plane Crash

I think the plane crashed because some mechanical failure, and the airline doesn't want the blame so they make up the story about the pilot, and like every other story we will never know the truth...

Re: German Plane Crash

Not sure if this story is confirmed, but anyway:

(from The Guardian)

On Thursday, Lufthansa’s chief executive, Carsten Spohr, revealed that Lubitz had interrupted his training in 2009, but refused to say why. He would only say that Lubitz was eventually cleared to return to work, after passing fitness and psychological tests.

On Friday however, the German newspaper Bild said that the Lufthansa flight school in Phoenix, Arizona had designated Lubitz at the time as “not suitable for flying”.

The newspaper said he spent a year-and-a-half receiving psychiatric treatment. Several times he was forced to repeat his flying classes because of depression, before he successfully finished his training. In 2009 he was diagnosed with a “severe depressive episode”, Bild reported.

He was given “special regular medical examination” by a doctor as well as the coding “SIC”. This coding also appeared on his pilot’s licence.

....but because we live in a politically correct world, we can't tell him no he can't be a pilot. That would hurt his feelings. We can't have that.

I think it's a perfect way for the G to take more power. (Even though it was a German plane) Remember it's a progressive movement. These things take time. We already know the means justify the ends.

Dead on Robie, this is a problem that keeps on repeating itself. People are afraid to tell others no.

Re: German Plane Crash

The whole situation is beyond tragic. Around here, a bunch of people are sympathizing with the pilot. Their point is that he struggled with severe depression and just couldn't deal anymore.

A close family member of mine struggled, and still struggles, with severe depression. I consider myself more sympathetic towards those suffering from mental illness than most. That being said, I am so sick and tired of politically correct cowards feeling sorry for the pilot and making him out to be the victim.

I'm so sick of this disgusting politically correct bulls**t. The guy is a lowly piece of filth mass murderer. Albeit, a dead lowly, filthy, mass murderer. If your life is so tough you decide you need to die, fine. Do it on your own. I could argue that suicide in itself is selfish, but I won't even go there. But to be so self-centered that you kill hundreds of innocent people in the process, burn in hell. The guy wasn't schizophrenic, he had depression. He knew he was killing innocent people. He just didn't care. All that mattered to him was his own issues.

If anyone wants to argue otherwise, try victimizing the pilot, or say that typical politically correct propaganda like "he wasn't a bad person," why don't you tell that to the families of some of the innocent people who died on the plane.

Re: German Plane Crash

Look forward now to a control override system that will allow a ground control station to assume all control of the plane, and essentially make the pilots simple spectators in the cockpit, in an emergency. the technology exists to have pilotless flight now, and in the event of an emergency, the computers could take over....

What amazes me is the age of the copilot, and his overall lack of experience. While you can hop on commuter planes in the US piloted by "kids", the airliners are still crewed 90% or better by ex-military pilots, with thousands of hours of experience.

Re: German Plane Crash

We not gonna learn anything... When a few screws upstairs get loose without a warning, s^*t like this can happen anytime and anyplace. Even if there is signs in every case so far we seen, nothing was done, and if it was a concern, it was looked over.

Frankly speaking the only thing we can do is pray that when someones screws get loose, that people we love nowhere near that and if we're there and there is a chance even a slight one or an opportunity get the MF
