Funny Thing Today....

Not things you hate. Love. Love and hate or wall of shame. It's just odd funny things in construction.

Re: Funny Thing Today....

I remember installing Larsen storm doors probably 10 years ago. The instructions were a multi fold sheet that spread out to the size of an opened two page newspaper. I always thought it was ridiculous. How awkward to try to hold that and install.

In how many languages?

I'm most offended by the instructions that use indecipherable pictures rather than writing just a few words of direction.

Re: Funny Thing Today....

At least it has words. I don't care for the ones that try to be clever and use nothing but illustrations. The opposite extreme is the ones that make it look like an assembly of a space shuttle. Can't they just find a normal guy to explain things in a normal way?

Re: Funny Thing Today....

For many things we are already familiar with, it can be interesting to look at the instructions and wonder how the heck anybody can use them.

I had clients trying to assemble a round Ikea craft table with folding sides and gave up after wasting their evening. "Sure, no problem. I'll add it to the list." (The hidden trick was orienting the cam locks a certain way, pushing them in only a certain amount, and order of assembly, etc.) Pita.
