First Snow On The Way....

...for Delaware this year.

5"-7" forecast.

The mandatory madhouse at hardware and grocery stores is happening as I type, or so I heard.

Hit 15F here today, going back down.

It'd probably warm up to snow.

The good part is I don't have to shovel cold.

Actually one of the nicer winters we have had in years. Just hope we don't pay for it this summer.

I love that it's not going to hit Connecticut.

I love the first snowfall. And most days of. I find it slows the rat race down a little bit in a deep breath kind of way.
It's the days following that suck

i remember the first snowfall, beautiful.

the subsequent major storms that covered up the mess were awesome.

what i vividly recall is waking up in the middle of the night to the eerie dead, muffled silence that meant there was 2' of new chit covering the countryside....

time to go plow....

Re: First Snow On The Way....

Got about 10"-12" here it came earlier than expected I got stuck in it and it was slick as sh*t like driving on ice on the smallest incline took 5 hours for a 20 minute drive. Got a mile from home no one was making it through the hilly back road, so I parked in a commercial lot and walked home lugging my Chinese takeout food and left $300 in groceries in the car.

Counted 17 cars within that mile stuck, off in ditches, creek or blocking the road including an ambulance and a cop car.

Re: First Snow On The Way....

Sunny here as well. I'm hoping things dry out over the weekend so I can finish up some exterior paint work that has been languishing on a job that is almost done.

We also are already having our fruit trees start to bud. I haven't even had a chance to prune them yet. Probably tomorrow morning they will get a quick pruning and that will be it. Mainly to just lop off the too tall middle trunks, and anything that is really out of whack.

Last year at this time, we were coated in ice.

Glad we got that tree out before that came, although the ice may have made it easier to load up!

We got a dusting, nothing major. I did finally pick up some new shovels and some ice melt yesterday, so at least I have those now

Re: First Snow On The Way....

Got 6 inches here in Ohio. I had to go check on a job (Sunday) and move some stuff around so the plumbers could do there thing on Monday morning. Ended up having to shovel that 6 inches of snow from the long driveway as no one had been there to do so. I'm worn out now.
