Just happened overnight. I've never been so glad to live near the coast. Usually I hate it.

Hope you planned ahead and have a full tank of gas those roads look like you could be sitting for hours waiting to get out.

Interested in the latest but you should be gathering important papers and photos instead of hanging here.

I've got them in one place. Nothing I can do from here except wait and watch. Most my important stuff is on a cloud server. Everything is digital these days. I'm very well insured. I have insurance for my insurance.

Re: Fire Near Me!

Wow, just read through it! That thing is right on you and when roads are like that sometimes it's more dangerous to be on the roads than wait till the last minute. Glad to hear you made the right call.

That's a tough one and none of us can even come close to understanding what you guys went through today. Really glad to see you guys look to be in the clear

Re: Fire Near Me!

Thanks everyone.

It went right around us. We got lucky, very lucky. The air is horrible. I'll be cleaning ash for a while. This isn't my first boat ride.

Stay safe bud!! We had one close to our place last summer, but mostly in the mountains, and once it's there they just let it burn, the smoke gets really tough to deal with as well!
Thoughts and prayers with you

Re: Fire Near Me!

that came from outta nowhere huh? I seen it was northern california today. Then you got hit. Dry conditions make it very dangerous but you have those winds and it don't take much. Barbecue is out of the question. In those conditions any kind of open flame would scare me. Stay alert until you get some rain (I know right?) and those winds die down

Yes, all it would take is the wind to shift directions. We'll see in the morning. That's when the winds are the worst. We get up to 70 mph straight line gusts through here in the fall.
