When I was young working on a siding crew we would tell the new guy to go get the aluminum magnet. We had one guy go to two other jobs and ask them where it was...hilarious. The bosses didn't think that was funny...oh well.

Don't forget the bucket of amps, and if he calls home tell the wife to pick up a quart of blinker fluid.

Re: Favorite Prank To Pull

Never been much of a prankster. A contractor I worked for 10 years ago had us doing work in a bunch of apartments and decided it would be a good idea to get a woman who knew nothing about construction to keep an eye on things. One day we told her we couldn't clean up because the mineral spirits wouldn't clean the brushes, we needed the mix of 50% mineral spirits and 50% paint thinner. She was pretty pissed when she came back from Sherwin Williams.

This might be a mean prank but it's really the victims fault for:

1. Not looking before you sit down.. and 2. Not covering the seat in the first place. If you sit bare-butt on a public toilet seat, Icy Hot is the least of your problems.

Re: Favorite Prank To Pull

Not so much a prank. But there was this one guy on site that only ate Tim Hortons donuts for lunch. A new site super came around and didn't know this. He'd see the box and think it was for the whole crew so he took one. The other guys told him that the box was someone's lunch. The super didn't care and continued taking from the box. Well the guy's short temper got the best of him and one day he took his box of donuts to the outhouse and wiped each one on the underside of the tank. He didn't tell the super until he'd had a couple. After telling him the super didn't take from the box again. He went straight outside and heaved them up. I don't think the guy got fired over it.

Re: Favorite Prank To Pull

When I worked at a restaurant, I had a habit of sending new waitresses to the restaurant next door to borrow some evaporated water. One time the manager got a call from the restaurant next door asking him to tell the waitress to come back without the evap water becausethey explained it to her and she ws too afraid to come back without it.

The older guys on a steel crew tried to get me to go get a bucket of steam to loosen to nuts on the anchor bolts.
I was the youngest one on the crew and I guess they thought the dumbest. I wandered around for a while killing time, (huge paper mill job)then I got an idea when I saw a torpedo heater and a bucket on the other side of the jobsite.

I soaked a rag in water, held it in front of the heater til it was hot, put it in the bucket and covered it up with a piece of tarp. Walked back into the crowd and sat the bucket down. The one that sent me lifted the tarp and steam rolled out.
