Re: Favorite Beers

Absolute best type of beer is an eisenbock. I think the best one I've had is called EKU 49 or something. I'm German, we like to chew our beer... 11-13.5%

Everyday is miller light or Coors light.

Kona makes a good porter.

Cigar city has a couple good ones, Florida cracker and hotter than hell are their best lagers.

Here is one of my favorites I don't get very often. My buddy brought back a small keg when he was serving in Germany. I have had it a few times since then. Smoked beer! Its very good.

Have you tried LOT 13 on Avenue E in Bayonne? Right across from the new apartments that was an old factory. Been there once or twice, many different craft beers they have food but never tried.
Curious on who has the cheap pints of Bud?

Re: Favorite Beers

I've grown kind of tired of IPA lately (because my local store has overstocked on them for over a year), but this has been one of my favorites :

Really nice flavor, not as bitter as many IPA's, big alcohol content that doesn't overpower the taste.

Re: Favorite Beers

For quite a long time now I have drank mostly Bavaria. Its sold at the liquor store here, not the beer store. Yes here in Canada we have separate stores, although the liquor store has added alot of beer to their arsenal.

A good beer from Holland that I think tastes like Heineken, and much cheaper.

Years ago, maybe in '91, I was at a conference in a guesthouse near Prague on Slapy lake and they had great food and local beer. A year or so later I came back and they had been purchased by some dutch firm and they were serving this Bavaria beer. I nearly broke down and wept.

Re: Favorite Beers

We have separate liquor and beers stores in Pennsylvania as well. Until a few years ago, you could only but liquor & wine from a "State Store". Yes. The store was actually owed and operated by the state of Pennsylvania. The employees were government workers. And, it wasn't open on Sundays.

Now, we have "wine & spirits" shops and "beer distributors". But, they're now open on Sundays.

Stoners and their silly IPA's

Drink a milk stout or at least a good amber lager. If its too hot outside, a Belgian white is acceptable.

Actually IPA's are like genital warts. Not very attractive but after used to them, its a part of you.... I rarely will drink an IPA

(German.... I'd rather chew beer)

Oh don't get me wrong, I also enjoy a good porter, Belgian ale, trippel, doppelbock, scotch ale, and the occasional lager.
But my local store is always overstocked with i
IPA, because they were trendy for a while.

Ontario is like that too, if I recall correctly the "Liquor Control Board of Ontario" is the world's second largest purchaser of alcohol.
