Re: Favorite Beers

You should try Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock if you have not, I sure like it.

I've been working on this 6 pack of Rouge Dead guy Ale. One 12oz is about all I can take these days.

PBR is my campfire or summer beer. Dark stuff in the winter, Deschutes abyss, Old Rasputin stout, Narwhal, Jubelale.

I'm kind of burned out on the ipa thing right now too. It's like a cigar, the first taste is greatt, after that my taste buds are over sensitized and there isn't much point.

Wrong cigars then, hoss. Romeo and Juliet stubbies and Monte Cristo are great. I like Backwoods on occasion, as long as they arent to dry.

Both very high on my list.

I agree about the ipa's but it's mostly because all the "craft beers" are really just IPA's with massive amounts of hops in there so my mouth goes numb and then my allergies kick in. I'm good for one before I need to switch. I don't really like a bitter beer, I'm more of a malt guy, hence my preference for double bocks.

Totes, I lived in Bend for 25 years, great place, great food and amazing beer.

Pretty much anything from Deschutes, Rogue, Gulden Draak...and PBR too. I'll always love PBR, it reminds me of snowboarding in the winter with a backpack full of cheep beer.

Well, there it is then. We have much the same preferences. Just not allergy driven here tho.

IOW, I want beer to stroke me going down, not punch me in the throat.

Thats a heavy beer, from what I remember. I drink a few Guerros and craft IPAs from local breweries, but generally Shiner is about as heavy as I am after.

Side note:

I hate Bud Light. It tastes like water.

Miller lite would be my go to light beer, Coors light or Shiner Light Blonde right behind it.

Light beer kinda sucks though

I've said it in other beer threads, bars (fights may have followed), and I'll say it again here.

There are two kinds of beer IMO: Girl Pee, and anything else that looks like, and tastes like St Pauli Girl.

If I've ever said anything else, I was either being polite - or severely outgunned.

Had a party last night. Now I have a whole bunch of leftover randoms in the frig.

Currently getting punched in the throat by a Flying Dog Pale Ale.

I generally really like their stuff, but this guy isn't really doing it for me.

Mine is Nitro Milk Stout from Lefthand Brewing about 20 mins from me.

Heavy body like Guinness but smoother. Smoothest stout I have ever had.
That's a really good beer, just had that couple weeks ago. I think its better than guinness.

Typically drink the banquet beer (coors) if I'm having domestics. I also really enjoy the IPA's Odell make a great one.
