It's just that the food supply chain is so consolidated that what used to be an isolated local incident when we had thousands of suppliers and thousands of markets is now a national problem when it's all combined into a single mixed together supply. If you get E Coli into the processor and it's processing lettuce for everyone, then it's going to get everywhere.

I fared better than Sno did. I just had little squirts every hour and a half to 2 hours for most of Sunday and a bit on Monday. By that time I had been downing some Pepto and it kept things at bay. Was planning on working that Sunday, but I decided that staying close by the throne was a wise thing to do.

They guys in the kitchen are pros. I'm sure the lettuce was washed. But I don't think you could ever get rid of a bacteria from just washing with water. And it doesn't take but a couple to slip by to start multiplying in you gut.
