Does A Heavy Duty Charger Exist? Micro Usb

I don't know if any of you have had this issue or not, but lately my son and my daughter keep breaking the plug end on our chargers.

I've tried different brands, but they break the end off all of them

I seriously have bought atleast one new charger every week for the last two months - wth is going on

Make them earn the money to buy a new charger, by helping out around the house.
If nothing else it might slow the breakage down a little bit.

Change the outlets to the ones with USB built in to them.

Re: Does A Heavy Duty Charger Exist? Micro Usb

1. No cell phones in bed. That rule is up to you, but most breakage of these cables is because they plug in the phone at night, and then text/video/etc while in bed, then roll over, tug at the cable.

2. Get the ones with the brick-, the brick isn't broken, just the cable end is. You can get cheap cables online for 1 buck a piece. They suck, but you won't cry when they break either.

3. Not to tell you how to parent, but if a guy working for me chops the power cord 3 times a year, you can bet its coming out of his salary!

Yep, your correct its the little usb part that plugs into the phone or device that keeps coming off.

I have been on my son pretty good, and I have noticed his have lasted him longer.
Now my 3 year old daughter is kind of hard to break of this - so much as raise your voice to her, can cause her to cry and melt down

Its not the kids fault those plugs are small, probably all made in china junk ... But I did hope someone here knew where to buy a HD one .. maybe USA made.
Or German quality?

We have the same issue too. My wife bought one at best buy and its lasted a few months so far. A little more expensive but worth it.

The reason the outlet charger might help is that you have a single charging spot in the family room or kitchen, and the kids don't have them plugged in while in bed, on the sofa, etc.

The outlet ones charge very quickly, so my kids at least are OK doing without their devices while they charge.

I say make them pay for it somehow. After paying for it a few times I'll bet it never breaks again.

I second the separate brick/cable option. My 4 year old has broken a few of mine but, most times, the usb just comes out of the brick. The cables are really cheap to replace when it's just a usb-to-microusb.

I think I see the problem. You're letting a three year old play with delicate electronic devices.

A kid that age can break a 200 lb anvil.

plug in the charger and make them carry the cable around with them still plugged into the phone. No more need to plug and unplug from the micro USB port = no more broken cables.
