Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

There is nothing like Hatch Green Chili. It's food of the gods. Not only does it have "spicy" but it has a very rich flavor.

You really can't get it outside of New Mexico and Southern Colorado, there just isn't enough of it. It has a range of spicy, from mild to very hot. One of my favorite fast food places, Bobs Burgers, makes a Green Chili Cheeseburger and Green Chili Cheese Fries that are incredible.

There is a class of food, New Mexican, that is very different from the standard Mexican fare. It has a broader and richer variety of tastes.

Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

Could be I'm just lucky, but I don't get that tragic bowel symptom. I've heard others complain though.

Just ground a little fresh off the smoker chipolte over my lunch. This could be a long and meaningful relationship.

Good Luck
Dave

I have discovered that an open jar of habanero jam can make a 1/2 stack of RItz crackers disappear quickly.

Good Luck

Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

If you stuff dates with goats cheese then wrap with bacon and drizzle with balsamic reduction thats pretty good too.

Come to think of it just about anything stuffed with cheese wrapped with bacon is good.

What Hawaiians love chili pepper water, made with Hawaiian chili peppers And what is really good is some good fresh wasabi and shoyu on the raw fish.

Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

6 year old grandson spent the night last night. We put some of my habanero sauce on our pizza. After a couple of bites he said his brain was on fire.

He asked for more.

Good Luck

Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

Had to harvest the rest of the green house peppers today. Got a little frost nip last night. Looks like I'll be firing up the smoker again.

Good Luck

Dave do you grow new plants every year? We don't get cold and the plants live through fruiting. I just seed the habanaros, let them dry on a paper towel in the house and that's it

Re: Do You Like Hot Peppers?

Yes on starting with new plants every year. We can winter over a potted plant by bringing it in, but we typically just start fresh. Either plants seeds in pots Feb./March or buy started plants in May.

I've been buying the plants but am planning on going back to seed so I can have the more interesting varieties. Habanero is the hottest pepper plant we can buy locally for example.

Good Luck
Dave
